Yep, and also on Esquire, E!, MSNBC, USA and Bravo. It's a one-time-only (at least for this year) deal on the last day of the Premier League season, with a championship potentially on the line and relegation to a lower league possible for one of three clubs. Why all 10 games must be shown, I have no idea.

Since it's the SyFy channel, which teams will be playing? I'd like to see the Romulans vs. the Cardassians.

Sure, and Time Warner should have Cartoon Network air the NCAA March Madness next year.

Soccer is apt to bore the normal viewers even moreso than their regular programming.

That's why so many Americans play soccer. If you're playing it, you don't have to watch it.

If you count children ages 5 through high school, yes, lots of players. I myself had 3 boys and 1 girl who played. If you ask them once they graduate from high school how much they play or just watch the vast majority will tell you they don't. The majority of soccer fans come from south of the border or countries in Europe.

Soccer, as played by the younger players, can be exciting. Once it reaches the older teen players it turns into a defensive game of boom ball and adult soccer is even worse. It is no wonder that soccer fans attending games tend to bring their own personal amusement with them 'cause the action on the pitch sure won't keep them fixated.

Heh, close enough (though this year not really the case), it's Manchester United at Southampton. I'm an EPL fan and remember when they did this with the Fox network two years back and it was pretty cool then. Mostly though I can't wait to see the angry tweets from Oxygen viewers angry that their usual Sunday Snapped 'murder porn' marathon isn't on because they get the worst match offered, West Brom and Stoke City (except for odd mathematical situations, neither team is winning or getting relegated).

In all seriousness though, Sunday morning is a low-risk time to try this. Usually it's rerun or movie time, and at least on NBC it pre-empts Meet the Press; any David Gregory-free morning is fine with me.

The way the english primiere league works is that on the last day of the season(which this sunday was) ALL matches are played at the same time so nobody can have an advantage of kbnowing what they need to do if they were to play later. And as mentioned since the title, as well as relegation and other major international tournament (club)berths were on the line it was decided to do all 1o matches at once. And as stated Sunday morning is a good time to do this as this is generally the lowest rated period for TV networks.

SYFY - yeah right. How about call the network "Everything". Because it shows everything. WWE, Horror movies, sci-fi movies and now SOCCER?! What's next - Cosby reruns?

The Stoke fans were interested because a win gave their team its best finish ever in the Premier League, ninth. And Hull fans were interested because West Brom's loss meant Hull finished 16th instead of 17th -- THEIR best league finish ever. Believe it or not, this is important stuff to fans of the league's lesser clubs, which will never have the money to compete for the top five or six places.

NBC has done an excellent job of getting the atmosphere and history of English soccer across to its American audience. The clubs aren't franchises and there's a real sense of community pride around most of them, especially those that are still run by local people rather than foreign billionaires. I wouldn't be surprised if this season has created quite a few new fans. Unfortunately for the American domestic league, MLS, most of them are likely new Liverpool or Manchester City or even Crystal Palace fans and will just wait till August to get interested again instead of turning their attention to MLS. But that's ESPN's problem.

If only the NFL did this (schedule all wk 17 games at 4:15 ET). But that league is truly all about the Benjamins.

SyFy should be Science Fiction TV shows and movies, and nothing else. Even bring back Dark Shadows! They used to show it in the 1990s. Horror is what "Chiller" is for - and it is on hardly any cable systems basic service.

They used to show "Dark Shadows" during the 2000s, too, specifically between 2000 and 2003. I was able to discover it through their programming at the time.
