Syfy's "Sharknado!" coming to theaters

It wasn't so bad its good...it just sucked. It got a lot of tweets which made media types think it was a big deal. It wasn't. It had 1.4 million viewers for its first showing. PBS had more viewers that night.

Dumb beyond belief is an adequate descriptiln of what "SciFi" has become. Besides Twilight Zone reruns, its all schlock and Z-grade spoofs. They are not focused on their market. The fact that Walking Dead is on a generic network instead of the network that supposedly specializes in the genre is an embarassment to them.

I'm sure NBC had more viewers too, and its...NBC. No sane person had any expectation for a summer cable movie to beat a broadcast network, strawman...much less on a Thursday night. ::)

The social media notoriety actually helped the encore airing beat the premiere by 600,000 viewers--or to put it in tested terms, 'nobody': http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/20...-18-leaps-38-percent-in-total-viewers/192850/

Maybe by giving "Snarknado" a theatrical run, the film might become eligible for an Oscar in the category of Best Special Effects.

Or maybe the Oscar for Best Acting By A Shark!

:D
