Syndi-keep-tion.

I have no idea, but I think we will see a change with the websites. They're currently using the standard Cox Media Group template. I hope they keep the last played feature.

Apex Broadcasting is looking at the Cox cluster in Greenville!

Huh? I thought they were already "sold" to Summit Media (supposedly formed by a group of former Cox managers) and it was just awaiting FCC approval.

Yes Cox sold, they wanted to keep them all together,m summit will flip GSP fast as they can to Apex!

Hmmm..early reporting made it sound like Cox and Summit were happy with the deal, particularly because they felt like it would be a "painless" transition since it was ex-Cox employees buying the stations. We'll see I guess.

Scooter Lesley here with...Intellgence for your station:
MAGIC,...If you are running a cheaply priced horse manure nightime Syndi, that can only be described as Awww-ful, and all the host does is tell your listeners how stupid they are if they...Do this...or...Don't do that, then send it circling the drain. Research shows that ridding yourself from unessessary drivel can improve both your ratings, and your revenue, and flushing out the sink on a regular basis can avoid those costly plumbing bills. ...and if a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his ass so hard!

Has anyone else heard any truth to this rumor? I honestly was hoping it would stay in Summit's hands since they may have less incentive to flip any of the stations. From what I'm seeing, Apex has no Urban or Alternative stations (although they do have a Chuck-FM in Charleston -- not sure how similar it is to ours).

The only rock station they own is in Destin and it looks a heck of a lot like a Planet-style station (and God knows we don't need another one of those).

Like I mentioned before I thought this group of former Cox managers WANTED to run these stations.

Chuck in Chucktown is a clone of Chuck in Greenville, down to the same voice, imaging, playlist, logo, etc. They even do the commercial-free 9-noon block.

Well, that may be the only similarity they have as far as currently owned stations. And it, at least from the surface, seems like Cox has put a bit more effort into molding X98.5 into what it is based on listener feedback so it seems less of just pure automation.

If Apex gets a hold of the Greenville cluster, it'll be interesting to see what happens. Hopefully, they'll still have less of an inclination to change the translators since they don't cost much to run. Obviously, they wouldn't mess with JAMZ. Hot 98.1 could be a different story since it's up and down in the ratings.

Success...ratings, revenue,...and Popularity in General is "The Goal"! Breaking even,...is loosing! Recently, a few on this board have whipped about Love & Hudson going Syndi. No, at this time, the new EARTH FM is only interested in succeeding here!
When L&H first debuted, WMYI-FM was owned by Amcom General, and after the first 3-years, the station was pulling a
24-share. After Amcom sold, the idea dwindled. At present, it is quite simple as to what they are on the air for...Local Success! Garnering ratings will be baby steps, due to their small amount of coverage. So, you consentrate on the area that you do cover. Some have scoffed, when I said: The goal of Love & Hudson is to be #1, 6a-10a, A25-54. For them, that's the Cheeze! When you factor-in the size of their coverage, it might seem nearly impossible, but many thought the same, when they got wind of them possibly returning to the air. Yes, with their own money, the investors bought their way back on. I do not envy their risk, but I covet their oppertunity. Since they have gotten this far,...what else? No true Broadcaster, that loves the business, wants to see this fail.
