Syndicated casualties are starting to line up ...

The Doctors is a show that has 9 lives and has been on life support for a few years now. I wasn't surprised that Face The Truth got canceled as it's a tough business for new shows in the syndication market.

I was surprised that Sinclair didn't ever try and sell kids click to other TV stations on The CW & MYNet TV or some Fox TV stations that don't have news in the morning either. CW7 always aired Kids Click an hour early at 5AM since they aired news for an hour at 7AM which was a repeat of 6AM news on WWMT then the final hour of Kids Click at 8AM. Now it's JTV at 5AM then The Doctors & paid programming that took over the block.

Face The Truth has it's replacement on the CBS O&O's: Protection Court is a real-life courtroom show to be shot in Miami in the courtroom of Judge Carroll Kelly, who deals with restraining orders. It's to be a co-production of CBS Stations and Trifecta Entertainment (who will syndicate the show to other station groups). It will be produced by WFOR-TV Miami.

And I suppose Protection Court will air on the same stations that aired Face the Truth - which means Yakima will never see this program on local airwaves. We had no FTT station here in town even though The Doctors promoted FTT often in promos (airs at 2PM on KAPP).

Abysmal ratings for Millionaire so I'm not surprised. It was a good run while we had it. But having only three winners in 17-some odd years is ridiculous, knowing that the primetime WWTBAM produced nine in just 2 1/2 years.
Nobody ever won the $1,000,000 under Chris Harrison. I've always wondered if he would give a winner a rose...you know, Bachelor? Lol.

I'm not surprised at Millionaire being canceled. It hasn't been on any station in Memphis in years, and when it was it was usually in a late night or early morning time slot. If it was like that in other cities I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.

In the Hartford/New Haven Market WCTX/59 aka MY TV 9 (which now channel shares with WTNH), dropped the show the first year Harrison took over as host. It wasn't brought back until the following fall.

Millionaire was on Wood TV 2002 to 2008 then went to WZZM from 08 to 13 then wasn't aired for a couple of years until 2015 on WXSP until the end of it's run it came on at 9AM to 10AM. It had a great run I thought it was going to get cancelled since ABC signed on for Hall's talk show RTM will get the late night hours on the ABC's O&O's.

Not only that, but nobody won the million under anyone but Meredith. There were three hosts after her: Cedric the Entertainer, Terry Crews, and Chris Harrison. Nobody even made it to the million dollar question since Cedric's tenure, and nobody in the 2018-19 season won more than $100,000.

As of May 2019, these markets do not carry Millionaire at all:

* Sacramento/Stockton/Modesto, CA
* Pittsburgh, PA
* Memphis, TN
* Savannah, GA
* Burlington, VT/Plattsburgh, NY
* Tri-Cities, TN/VA
* Springfield/Holyoke, MA
* Traverse City/Cadillac, MI
* Bakersfield, CA
* Monroe, LA/El Dorado, AR
* Binghamton, NY
* Yuma, AZ/El Centro, CA
* Lake Charles, LA
* Watertown, NY
* Alexandria, LA
* Bowling Green, KY
* Greenwood/Greenville, MS
* Presque Isle, ME
* Juneau, AK

It is also not available to watch in Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands, unlike fellow syndicated game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!

These markets do carry the show but only in overnight hours:

* Washington, DC - WJLA (ABC) at 1:07 and 1:37 AM Eastern
* Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, FL - WPLG (ABC) at 1:37 AM Eastern
* San Antonio, TX - KMYS (CW) at 12:30 AM Central
* Columbia, SC - WOLO (ABC) at 1:06 AM Eastern
* Lafayette, LA - KLFY (CBS) at 12:37 AM Central

Some markets that previously did not carry the show re-acquired it at the start of the 2018-19 season, such as St. Louis, which had dropped it in the late Meredith era. I believe Atlanta also did not carry it for the first couple of Harrison seasons.

Per promo today, KIMA/KEPR will air Kelly Clarkston at the 9:00am 'death slot'...wishing her luck!

Tamron Hall in Michigan:
Detroit: WXYZ
Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo: WWMT
Flint-Saginaw-Bay City: WEYI
Lansing: not listed
Traverse City-Cadillac: not listed (but won't be surprised if it shows up on WPBN [which aired Steve] as two of its downstate Sinclair sister stations are picking it up)
Marquette: not listed
Alpena: not listed (see Traverse City note as WPBN is the default NBC affiliate for this tiny market)
