Syndicated Morning Shows (DFW)

Hello

Who the best syndicated morning show in DFW? My vote is Kidd Kraddick.

I don't know if its good, but starting on 9/01/2009 the Yolanda Adams Morning Show will be on KHVN 970 am.
She is replacing the dearly depart Brother Joe Bagby.

What is the criteria by which we are to measure the "best", since

1) they aren't local

2) the content, by definition, is therefore generic, and

3) what you hear might not even be in "real time" [i.e Delilah collecting requests for weeks/months, then picking through them and voice tracking songs to them.]

??

None. Mornings should be live and local. Just sayin'. All formats.

So only local shows can be entraining? Riiiiiiiiiight. I guess television has been getting it wrong all these years. And I suppose no novel is worth reading unless the author is from DFW. And who wants music from anyone who doesn't do 20 shows a year on lower Greenville.

Yup, we would all be better off had there never been a Grand Ol' Oprey or Worlfman Jack or Paul Harvey. Who needs syndication or a national presence?

You guys remind me of thye Mike Myers sketch on SNL- "if its not Scottish, er, local, it sucks."

Whatever.

NPR's Morning Edition is the best thing on our local air during morning drive. During football season, especially during the playoffs and college bowl season, Mike and Mike are worth while too.

I don't know about the best, but in my opinion the worst is the regular guys.

Man, I agree with you there. Even though their shift is from 5-9 they still talk after 9. KDBN & Cumulus's corporate office needs to pull the freakin plug on these clowns.

LOcal TV ha local and and Live shows up to 7am..except Ch.4 which has beaten the network morning crud several times. So Yeah live and local relates to the local listener. However suits, AE's will argue and win becasue they can.

Agreed.

KERA 90.1

And "All Things Considered" in the afternoons.

NPR does a good job with their in-depth, newspaper length stories...if you can stand the ultra-left leaning opinions.

Nothing can replace newspapers for in-depth coverage, but NPR does a great job within the confines of radio.

Walter Cronkite once said people are ill-informed if they get all their news from radio or television.

A moderate liberal is how I describe myself. My liberal friends may disagree, but NPR does lean left, and Fox leans right. It's so apparent that it is ... transparent.

One of the best NPR stations is KCRW in Santa Monica, CA.

As a conservative, I take exception to this statement.

Yes, NPR leans left, but they make a concerted effort to get contrary opinions on air and try to be objective. That's more than any of the talking heads on AM or even cable TV- conservative or liberal- can claim.

Would I prefer a conservative outlet? You bet I would, if there we conservative radio shows with the same degree of professional journalistic standards NPR applies on a daily basis.

But when all I get on my side of the political spectrum are clowns like Rush, Hannity, and Beck, who are killing conservatism by simultaneously dumbing down and rattling up their listeners- NPR will have to do. Listening to an hour of "conservative" talk radio goes a long way to explain how we lost both houses of congress and the White House. We got in bed with sleazy opportunistic shock jocks dressed in conservative clothing. We got we we deserved.

Maybe by 2012 we will have learned our lesson.

They're better than Lex & Terry or the Jagger Show. But alas, even The Regular Guys are gone now. After less than 6 months, 93.3 has apparently changed formats yet again. TRG is out. Who knows what the heck will be in their place. :-X

From Wikipedia:

"Recently as of August 27th, 2009, 93.3 Quality Rock began slipping Christian music into the rotation and preparing the DFW audience for the conversion of Rock N' Roll to straight Christian Rock."

I'd suggest that's just a rumor, especially since it comes from wikipedia. What's running right now is a mix so varied it's impossible to tell what's going to be playing.
