Syndicated Sickness

So I see CC is launching ANOTHER syndicated morning show, this time with Whoopi Goldberg. How long before there are no local morning shows on CC music stations? Morning radio used to be the safest, if you had some talent and could pull decent numbers, but that isn't the case anymore.

Better question: don't morning shows have at least a minimal requirement to be funny? Because Whoopi Goldberg is exactly the opposite.

Even to liberals and moderates, Goldberg just isn't all that funny. It's not her political stance, it's just her humor. It's not humorous.

Since more than a few CC stations run prog. talk/Air America, maybe she'll wind up there...then again,I read that the show is aimed for _FM stations_ and most AAR stations are on AM...http://radioequalizer.blogspot.com/"After her infamous potty-mouth at a 2004 Democrat Party fundraiser, she was fired as a Slim-Fast weight loss spokeswoman. Sure enough, Whoopi went ballistic...The conservative African-American group Project 21 on Whoopi's comedy routine (using puns on the President's last name)http://www.nationalcenter.org/P21NVMassieWhoopi704.html

Hey marko, politics has nothing to do with it. She wasn't funny in 1988--before I even knew what I was. She's even less funny now.In fact, she's so "not funny" that she owes US some funniness--like a negative integer. And you can take your politics and do something physically impossible with it.

Not everything I say at any point in the day has a political connotation to it. Sometimes I call unfunny people unfunny.I didn't know humor had right and left ideologies. And I don't remember ever saying "the conservative in me says that Whoopi Goldberg has never been funny". You added that, I called you on it, and now you want to defend your self by bringing up comments I've made in other fora.Just live with the fact that not everyone finds Goldberg funny, and we can think that without having any political bent.Talk about looking for partisanship...
