Hi All, What drives me nuts and alot of people is a tv station pre-emepts syndicated tv shows Like ET , The Insider,Access Hollywood and Extra for infomercials in in 7pm pre-primetime time slot, and show your favorite syndicated tv shows at 3am in the morning.what happen , they did not received the video tape or the sat feed on time or been greedy running a Hairclub for Men or Time and Life Box CD infomercials in pre-primetime time shots. Can anybody shed some light on this.

All of those shows, plus other ones that are sent same day as air, the TV stations have what's are called "Evergreens." Which is in the event that something goes wrong with the feed, the station can still air the program, but it will be a generic episode. You can notice if you are watching an "Evergreen" by seeing if they mention anything happening today, yesterday, or any upcoming events...if they don't mention anything like that, you are probably watching an "Evergreen."

Honestly, I"m not sure why stations do that, I agree, it stinks, but I'm not really sure. My only guess (since I work in the MC department, and not sales) is that the infomercial people offered a butt load of money if they ran their infomercial during "primetime"

Thanks for the help,If I have a product to pitch, I agree about running a infomercial
in primetime after paying a kings ransom to air it.especially around the holidays.
I would like to see classics "The Clapper" "Chia Pet" and the "Ove Glove" in a 30min
infomercial.

I would watch those infomercials just to laugh at them...haha...

But by the 5 minute mark, I would probably be changing the channel

In the Mid-Michogan market, WNEM occasionally pre-empts weekday episodes of Wheel and Jeopardy for infomercials. I don't know the reason behind that (other than a money-grab), as Wheel and Jeopardy are syndication's best shows.

Eh, I've seen worse.....KETK in Tyler/Longview, TX once preempted "Entertainment Tonight" about three times a week, along with a few other shows, for an upcoming "Get Rich Quick" seminar infomercial.

Last saturday on my local.Jeopardy was pre-empt for a Time and Life 60's CD collection infomercial.I enjoyed sitting for 30 minutes watching the old videos of my favorite groups.since I have most of them mp3'ed alreadyI will save $100 dollars on the collection.I love to see Time And Life release the video version of those same footages of artists they used to make the infomercails.

I think most of them came from shows like "American Bandstand" (Dick Clark wisely kept an archive of most of that series).
