KIKU could have added shows from TV Tokyo, but nope. Maybe TV Tokyo's programming doesn't match with what Byron Allen wanted KIKU to air
Most of KIKU’s Asian-centric content is between 1-3pm and 7-10pm, so it depends on what foreign content is available at the moment. Right now it’s crime dramas, serials, variety, traveling, and news programming. The only thing they’re lacking is anime, comedies, period adventure, and fantasy.

KIKU aired anime for 1 year (2006-07), but after that they didn't show them. Maybe any anime that KIKU wants to add was either too expensive to get the rights to or they just didn't fit their standards. As for the last 3, they might generate some viewership, but compared to crime dramas, they wouldn't do well as them.

In the end Allen won't listen and instead continue to put out Infomericals as well as his low-tier content onto the schedule because all what Allen cares is the money.

Yes. Hope Allen knows Honolulu is a Minority-Majority city. And he did promise to continue the station’s commitment to the Asian-American community. But they’re not the only one who’s lacking in the Asian programming department. KBFD is also getting some criticism for not showing enough Korean fare. Guess that also explains why they’re going to Viki, Nippon Golden Network, and The Filipino Channel for fresh content.

Why the 23rd instead of the 9th?
Some start the 23rd instead of the 9th. I know Live with Kelly and Mark and Tamron Hall started September 3rd. Most others start Sept. 9, Talk shows and Game Shows, I seen an advertisement for Family Fued that their new season starts September 23rd also on my local FOX station also.

KBSI doesn't air The Simpsons on weekends, just weeknights. Well, they do air new episodes on Sundays, but not reruns on weekends.
The Simpsons is the only cartoon they air in reruns and they use to air 2 hours of The Simpsons from Midnight to 2am on Saturday nights and if there was no sports sometimes they aired it from Noon to 1:30pm on Sundays. But now they only air one episode on the weekend starting a couple weeks ago.

When was the last time KEYC-DT2 carried Simpsons, King of Hill, Family Guy and/or American Dad reruns?
I've lived in Mankato for 6+ years now and they didn't carry it then. Until Sept 2020 KEYC signed off nightly at 12:30 on KEYC-DT2 and 1:05 on KEYC
