Syndication

As more and more radio stations continue to cut cost by replacing local talent with voice tracking and syndication, I wonder if anyone on the board knows what it cost a station to syndicate or voice track a show?

For many stations it costs them little to nothing to pick up a syndicated show.

It takes total inventory out of each hour of the show. Syndication that is done on barter is given "free" in excahnge for a percentage of the spots run in the show... sometimes additional out-of-show inventory is required.

Cheap Channel pays from 400 to 500 per month to voicetrack a show in markets for a six day week voice track of a four to five hour daily show. Laughable isn't it?

....and they don't have to have another employee in the bulding...never pay for a vacation week, never have to pay benefits (insurance etc)...
