Let me get this straight...95X slips from a 3.2 to a 2.8 in the latest ratings. 10th place! Now, do they get a ribbon with that? Because the Focker family would like to display it on Greg's wall.
And WRAX, which is Bleeder & Ken's "X affiliate" in Birmingham (right?), slides from 3.3 to 1.7 in the fall book. Good for #19. Wow! That might be a decent rank in L.A--which, for you e-literates, stands for Los Angeles, not Louisiana--but that's gotta be format-change territory for ABCitadel in Bama.
Could there possibly be problems with tryin' to beam the same girly morning show twixt two different rock stations in New York and Alleebama? And has wurd on the numbers travelled yet to the guys and girls on that show? In the various locations where they're based? Tuscaloser? Montgummery? Syracuse? Hackensack? HoboKen? Am I leaving anyplace out?
Hey, here's an idea. While they're at it, maybe they could just go ahead and add some new affiliates in Juneau and San Luis Obispo, so they can call themselves a "national show"?
Or maybe they should stick to the current grand plan. Because it's bound to work NEXT year. After all, the audiences in NY and Alabama are so similar! Like peas and carrots.
And can you imagine the little reassuring pats on the ego they must give each other during spots every day to stay afloat mentally? Like...Jeez, I don't get it, the phones sure go crazy whenever we do a contest! And...if only our billboards had been a little bit bigger, we'd be going up. And...don't worry, that sound effect you just played in Syracuse was really cute and I've got another neat sound effect cued up on my machine in New Jersey that everyone in Alabama will love!
Meanwhile, look out, B&K! Here are the morning shows lurking just behind you in the rankings: Phil (Am I retired yet?) Markert, Scorch, Don Imus (and his flashy Nixon impressions), Mike & Mike, and those lovable characters over on the Disney Channel. Good luck...we're all counting on you.
