T-1 for doing remotes that include music

Does anyone have any idea the costs and feasibility of doing a remote on T-1 so that we could do a complete show from location. Can't go into much detail about why I'm asking this, but just that I want to see if it is still being done!

Can't you just use a laptop and an internet connection to run your automation from a remote site? I've seen it done before with Audio Vault. Your talent will see the same screen they see in studio on the remote laptop and run things from the remote site.

Well, the idea is to be able to play stereo music up line to the studio just like in the old days. Yeah, we could do the control from the studio, but when you have a dj on location, it is still alot better...mixing and scratching and such.

it can be done.

I recall BIG D 103 in Hartford, CT having an ISDN or T1(I forget which) installed at the Berlin Fair. They did entire shows from the fairgrounds.

Obviously, you have to call well in advance. Make sur eyou get a quality install job and line, BIG D's line didn't sound much better then a regular phone line at times...

As I'm discovering, I'm that it's actually cheaper to go with an internet tunnel than to use T-1. ISDN is not available, or at least not here. T-1 is WAAAAAY expensive. So...looks like I'll use a streaming method of some sort.
