T 102 Party Zone

No one has a comment about shadow/rusty/dale doing the saturday night party zone on T 102 in Pottsville????? I caught some of it and if i had to guess he wasn't live or in the studio......

was wondering where he went. hes better off anywhere else besides wilk. wilk is now just a BORING station. no calls or same callers, nancy and john talking to each other, and once in a while joe thomas jumps in. sue, well she talks with herself..and once again joe chimes in. at least dale knows radio, and is interesting when hes on...

Wasn't that also the case, most of the time, when the show was being carried on WILK?

(I didn't listen very often, so I really don't know.)

Steele should have went for 105 the River or Gem 104, whose two stations can be heard clearly within the metro area. T-102, on the other hand, can still be heard with a decent signal throughout Luzerne and parts of Lacka. County, but there is a new translator on 101.9 from somewhere in Hamlin that can cut in to their signal strength in parts of the Scranton area. Steele is well-known within our radio market, but Pottsville is between 40-60 miles away from the metro area.

It's called a CONTRACT. See also Market exclusiveity. Most of Entercom full timers have it with a no compete clause which says that for a set period of time usually one to two years, for whatever reason you part ways, whether your idea or their "suggestion", you are not allowed to work on air for a competitor in the same metro market. I'm sure either Bold Gold, Gem, or almost anybody would love to have Dale Fender Steele on. Hey at least he's SOMEWHERE and for someone who used to HATE satellite, tracks, and pre fabs. I am GRATEFUL for streams and apps. There are some great stations out there, it's just that NONE of 'em are here!

Dale should approach WFYY- Their signal reachs well into out area. They were running Charlie Tuna's Back to the 70's on Saturday night, but I guess he retired & it's TJ Kelly on both Saturday & Sunday nights. They may go for a live show that would pull in listeners. WFYY considered out of the metro area?

When you had a big stick in the metro, a rim shot from the boonies isn't going to work. There are bigger issues here than just finding a station.
