T-bone

Another little birdie tells me Tom 'T-Bone' Scheppke got let go by Clear Channel last week. Merry Christmas! Tom has more rock and roll credibility in his little finger than... well, you know. He worked with Joe and Lou on the old KMAC/KISS, rode that horse til they went oldies, came back, then had a good long run at KZEP. Lotus recently sold them to Clear Channel. #$%^&* CCR bean counters! Bah!

T-Bone's name is no longer on the official KZEP website 'jock' listing, just crash, brian, nikki and jane. Will there be a replacement or just more voice tracking to replace T-bone's voicetracking? I am asking because I don't listen to KZEP very often, but when I do, its usually during that lame bumper cars segment. Yes, its lame because I am subjected to it about two or three times a week and the callers request the same handful of tired old songs that KZEP has worn out even when they were called KXZL. You can't even determine if it is an authentic request show, because every show sounds like a repeat, or more appropriately, a reshuffle, of basically the same music from the day before. Is the bumper cars program unique to the SA market or is it a CC corporate wide canned program? Are callers requests rejected if their suggestions do not appear on the approved corporate playlist? Does anybody know?
