True, but they were on the backup site for a year or so while they tried to salvage Rooster Rock. I remember their engineer (Tim) used to tell me the trials and tribulations of poor ol' Rooster Rock after they lost power.

Very true. I'm sure that most people on this board (even the DX community) will remember that the audio quality from the backup site paled in comparison to what they have now. It's no wonder why they wanted to get Rooster working again.
 
I knew when KXXO was on the backup. You could barely get them in Renton/Bellevue. Some places you were more likely to get Vancouver! Even down by Auburn they were just fair.
I guess it's different when over here, KPQ-FM actually has a way to the high xmitter (ski area) compared to KXXO on a high and isolated rock.
 
KPQ-FM has an amazing signal. I've even gotten them here before. I think KXXO went to the backup sight for the winter of 2012-2013, but was able to return to Rooster Rock that summer before power went out again the following winter. When it went out for the second time, I'm not sure they ever returned. If they did, it was only for a day or so here and there.
