Re: Making accusations about other broadcasters
You have to present something more substantial
here than just "I trust my source".
Sorry, but I'm not putting up with B.S. There may have been valid reasons for what happened...your
source could have a personality conflict with the said jock...blah, blah, blah....
I'm ALL for constructive criticism. If you don't like a jock's performance, by all means state your reasons. Discussing a jocks work history, beyond what stations they worked at, is rocky territory. I won't permit unsubstantiated remarks to be left as facts. You HAVE to back up your "facts" with references, or sources that are checkable.
Look at it this way...
YOU leave your position (whatever industry you work in) to persue another job. On a message board, a former co-employee that didn't like you posts that you were fired. Your new potential employer does a Google search on you, to find references, etc. Or maybe your name randomly comes up with some other search by accident, because your name is on a page with the search results...believe me,
that scenerio may have been a stretch 2 years ago, but no more...Anyway, he (potential employer) finds the message your disenchanted former co-worker posted. Now, the potential employer may ask you what happened, and ask why some one else says your fired...you say, we didn't get along...now he asks why you didn't get along...etc etc...and so you don't get the job, because of this "baggage". And it's all because of a lie on a message board.
Look, some of you may think this is far fetched, but in THIS industry, stranger things have happened. So
IN ALL FAIRNESS, unless you post your proof with your "gossip", leave it off.
