WHOOOOOOOOAAA hold on Steve, if you want to call people out I can do the same!. Ive alerted you a few times about threads that Paul and I were being attacked on and they just sat there for days on end, so yeah I responded while you sat on your arse and didnt take anything down. Some threads here have stayed a long time, weeks in fact where they were just flame wars and you did nothing about them despite being informed of their existence. I just emailed you twice, personally through your aircheck site ( since the E-mail link that you supplied through your radio-info profile bounced my email back to me twice), and through the moderator alert thing... that if it helps you I will resign from the Boston board although I dont think that solves your problem. I dont see anyone else offering to help you in this manner so dont point your finger at me. I have no ill will toward anyone on the board, Joe VIg? I dont even KNOW the guy I just know that according to him I was "political hire", I am currently "Unemployed", a "minor leaguer" and so on and so on, I doubt you would sit still for such insults publicly either from someone not even in radio. As stated if you want I'll remove myself from the board rght now, "seeya" as they say but you're still left with your problem and all here know it.

Peace out!

Can you tell "The Powers That Be", whoever that is, that the future of the board lies on your ability to ban members if they get out of hand? Would that work?

This isn't personal so just chill. I was using that as an example. I'm out the door to work so I don't have the time to discuss this adequately. yes you may have emailed me but there are days I don't get to check email. Not very darn often but occasionally.<P ID="signature">______________

DDDUUUUUUDE you singled me out by name (albeit with incorrect spelling...lol) I call that pretty 'personal"

LOl

Alright, Alright I give up, you win its not "personal"..........IT's PAUL MARSHALL's FAULT!! and he will continue to exact his evil influence from deep inside the corn belt on his new gig!

LOL

I'd be happy to moderate.

I'd be happy to moderate. I have internet access at home and work which is not watched by the powers that be.

Sounds fine to me, smoke. I personally don't buy it. Can anyone invision Radio-Info with boards for Wisconsin, Columbus, Hudson Valley, East Cupcake and not Boston? Puuleezz. It's not going to happen.

Then appoint more Moderators.

If there are not enough Cops on the beat, get some more.
Ask mods of other boards to help out with this one.
Some of these threads are so insulting You don't need to be an insider to figure them out and delete.
Take legal action against chronic offenders, they wreck this site and I beleive the owner of the site would be allowed to take out criminal complaints.

ClassicRadioNut:

Although I fully respect your undertaking of the board, I gotta say that shutting down the board for Market 11 would be foolish. Northeast PA, market 69, has a voice.

I come from your same cloth, I started BostonTVNews.com back when I was a senior in high school, and that place became a freakin TINDERBOX...I stepped down, and someone who is much better qualified to deal with MORONS took over. Max Preston has since moved the site to MSN (groups.msn.com/bostontvnews) and it is actually quite pleasant.

What I'd suggest happens throughout radio-info is IP address posting. I moved to Vegas 2 months ago for KMXB, and someone by the name of "JacksterLV" is really being satanic on the Nevada board...and it would be great to have some IP addresses to look at and see whose saying what.

If you cant handle moderating the Boston board (I likely couldnt), then pass the baton. But deleting it would be an awful solution for a pretty amazing market.

IP Posting is a bad idea

I don't doubt they can see who posts from which IP, but if it's public and someone here posts from the company intranet then it will be a simple matter of finding the individual inside who is posting.

IP addresses used to display here but the moderators can view them anyway. It would enable other posters to do IP lookups but the purpose of all this isn't to enable other posters to do this. The problem is enabling moderators to permanently block people who re-register. I'm on AOL & know for a fact from the old days my IP would always begin with 152,64,or 205. AOL is a problem for moderators. As far as people posting from work you might see a little more caution with IPs displayed but who doesn't have a home computer nowadays?

Frankly as someone else said I agree the majority of radio insiders are not the problem. Nik & Paul don't hide who they are & I don't really see other obvious insiders getting really vindictive.

We went through a brief period when all posts were pre-screened by the moderators. That was a major pain in the butt & all the immediacy of posting was gone...not to mention how time consuming it was for moderators who were chastised if they didn't pre-screen within minutes of a post.

Shutting down the board is not the answer as it's conceding victory to the problem people. I really think it's going to be just a matter of policing what can be policed, deleting posts, banning posters, then banning them as they re-register. I see one particular problem person is still not banned under his current persona even after all this & I suspect some other one who resurfaced last week the same day EWF got banned is still here.

I say just continue as it has been & do the best that can be done. I don't care how many join in the arguments as it really is only 2 people who are extreme about this. The other option is for everyone else to make a concerted effort not to read their posts. If they re-register,once you realize who they are again, start ignoring the posts. I know the temptation is always going to be great to read what cockamamie thing they've come up with & we also do have a few harmless people here who over post to the point that I swear they would respond to any topic, but if we all don't read posts we think are from the instigators they may go away or just get frustrated.

I think that it would be ridiculous to blow up this opinion board because of the actions of a few rotten apples. Why can't you just banish those who misbehave and let the rest of us continue to enjoy the opinions posted here?

It would be silly to have this board closed when it is so active and represents such a large and important market.

I have to put my two cents in and say that deleting the board will not do any good...everyone will just start posting on the providence board..i agree with mr. tempesta...if it's getting tiresome dealing with some of the people on here, let's pass the baton on..but thank you for you patience from past till now

"Frankly as someone else said I agree the majority of radio insiders are not the problem. Nik & Paul don't hide who they are & I don't really see other obvious insiders getting really vindictive. "

can i get a round of applause for the statement above...i usually get bashed when i give my opinion about something because i post under my name..and the people doing the actual slamming are cowardly no-name-wanna-be-radio-people who dish their stuff and then disappear for a few days...and then come back with full vengeance to blast on air people

Re: Whoa let's not call each other out so fast

so...i'm wondering how long it's going to take before this thread is deleted...hahaha
