Thanks for the mention Veteran PD... But I'm still around on CBS-FM now and then.

And frankly, I'd LOVE to work with Anita Bonita again. We speak regularly...she's like my younger sister.

You can't manufacture chemistry.

BE BIG!

I'll second that, she was definitely one of a kind. And while Craig Carton isn't "gone" and I can hear him on WFAN now, I do miss him on 101.5 as the afternoon show is now irrelevant.

as much as i couldn't stand carton, i kinda miss him. casey tries too damn hard. the whole station's went down the toilet. as a democrat, i shouldn't have enjoyed dennis and judi and the old jersey guys as much as i did... i won't put on 101.5 anymore. i'm tired of the loud-mouth ignorance of casey. stop trying to always be right and trying to shush the caller. for someone who hasn't been a lifelong jersey resident, he really needs to shut his kermit the frog voice up and for once, let us speak. it's impossible to ever disagree w/ that pompous loser....

I, too, miss Anita Bonita's being on the air in New Jersey!

Oh granted, I could never actually hear Anita on the air in New Jersey, but look folks, she sits around the house all day, watching "All My Children" and eating bon-bons... my gawd, she must be 450 pounds, by now!!... she's driving me CRAZY!! Won't somebody, somewhere, take pity on... eh, the heck with her, ME! Surely, there must be a format somewhere, consisting of the same 250 Radio-friendly old songs, where some heavy-drinking GM would like to overpay a chick to go "HAHAHAHAA!" when the jerk on the air makes an inappropriate remark about the latest "American Idol" contestant?

Please... someone!.. take PITY on me!!

Yours for fine broadcasting,
your very own, personal
Famous Amos!

/snark!

I think there's a typo in there. I believe that's supposed to be 45 pounds.

Ditto to BOTH of you ("CP" and Anita...) - and just for the record, as long as we're talkin about talent we miss...

i miss Anita Bonita, Big Jay Sorensen, and this dude Famous Amos... :)

JoeFromTomsRiver .... you didn't look down far enough.

BTW - I don't miss anyone except Dan Ingram, Hy Lit, Roscoe and Frank X Feller

oh wait - not New Jersey!

Flo Hansen on Magic 98.3's Saturday Night Magic Memories

I used to live in Westchester county in New York as a kid. When my parents were looking for homes in New Jersey in the late 90s, we always listened to Magic 98.3. We were making the 80 mile drive weekly (when gas was less than $1) and on Saturday nights, we enjoyed the oldies on Saturday Night Magic Memories. That show helped me appreciate 50s-60s oldies. When we moved to NJ, I listened to that show every week and called in a few times. One thing I remember is that they played "Piano Man" at 9:00 on Saturday night for weeks in a row. I wish I made airchecks. We'll never have anything like that on Magic again.

I also miss Jan Ochs on Magic 98.3, she had a great voice and was the only DJ that was there for the entire time I listened to Magic since 1999. Dan Turi and Tim Tefft of Magic were also fun to listen to on the afternoon drive.

I miss Gabrielle Vaughn of 97.5/94.5 PST.

I never really listened to NJ 101.5 except for the classic hits on the weekend and the times I'm stuck on the Turnpike.

On the non-commercial side, I miss the DJs at my high school and college stations that have graduated or left the station, even more so because I knew them personally. I especially miss Mikey Stormz of 90.3 The Core ;-)
