Talentless Nashville Radio

What has caused this dry desert of Nashville radio talent? I don't ever remember Nashville being so totally devoid of radio personalities as it is right now? What happened?

A few possibilities come to mind...firings, retirements, folks moving on, syndication, premium choice, voice-tracking, etc. Probably a few others factors too.

Plus, you have some "college all-stars" that haven't been called up to the majors yet...

As long as the sales dept. can make the sale...why use talent ?? All bottom line driven..plus over the last ten years or so...the audience has been dumbed down to expect less than nothing as the norm...very few have a chance to listen to other markets and hear what they offer...assuming they don't sound like Nashville.....

Maybe I'm missing something, but the only recent departure was the morning show at WSIX. Last time I checked, lots of live and local talent. And now George Plaster is back! Isn't everyone thrilled?

I may have to turn in my "GUY CARD"...but I don't give a rat's whistle about sports...with the exception of football..I do watch that when it's in season..but..I don't need GP to make it enjoyable for me..and Country Music died about fifteen years ago...but that doesn't matter since I don't care for that either.....thankfully I have my own little dog and pony show to entertain myself and about fifty dedicated followers....man do THEY need to get a life .. :eek:

Then what's this thread about? There's only one talentless station in Nashville, and it's been doing just fine for about 6 years.

I dunno, Howard C's pretty talented. But, I guess he could be considered "talentedless" since he ain't live and local.

This is one of "spew's" threads. That tells you all you need to know about it. ::)

Seven, but who's counting? ::)

Guess it depends on what you call "talent". There's several good ones here in Nashville. A lot better than many other areas.
