Talk 1200 - Are They Really Getting More Callers ?????????

My mole within the walls of Talk 1200 reports that he has seen an increase of calls into the Jeff Katz Show - this could be the
reason why .....

I just read a column in Huffington Post that was written by an actor in New York City who was offered a job paying $40 and hour to call specific radio shows. He was told to follow a script to present a requested point of view. The company hiring these actors - Premiere Radio - which is part of Clear Channel.

Ed Schultz admitted to "doing that in the past".

They must have had a sale on question marks where Bob B bought his emoticons ;D

Keep it up Bob, you'll surpass me someday ^. .^

What is your obsession with Jeff Katz and Talk 1200? Don't you have anything better to do? Also, is it really neccesary to put 9 question marks? One does the job perfectly fine.

Ed Shultz admitted having some fake calls during the first week of his local radio broadcast. That is understandable and very different from doing it on a consistent basis on well established shows.
Mancow pays "actors" to participate on hsi shows posing as callers. I have seen ads posted on Craigs List looking for people to fill this role.

it is cheaper and easier to pay actors to do stupid things than to get sued by some caller who thinks their life is ruined because they said something stupid on the radio.

After weeks and weeks of urging their "listening audience" to turn out for a tax-day rally at the Boston Common, they were able to get EVERY ONE OF JEFF KATZ'S "LISTENERS" to show up...all 300 of them!

Back when I was at WBZ, and Maynard was doing 12s in AMD and everyone else was doing at least high single or low double digits, there were times when we didn't get 300 people to show up at events or remotes. Not often, but it happened.

I'm an agnostic about Katz, since I can't remember the last time I heard him, but beating him up over listener turnout is apropos of nothing.

TSB
