Talk changes

So Chuck Meyer says he'll put Imus on KCUB, presumably bouncing Beck who just moved to AMD to some other time come next week. The Jolt is running out the clock with its bipolar talk lineup, KQTH has Savage at least until they give up on telling "The Truth", and it appears KNST does, too. Does 790 have any plans now that Levin is boring afternoon drivers?

How is it that both KQTH and KNST have Savage? I've never seen that before. Usually a syndicator grants market exclusivity when they clear a show. Do they air them at the same time?

I think he'll be off KNST soon enough. Don't know who's left for them though. God forbid they'd bring in a local guy.

I've been saying the Jolt should go all progressive for some time now, so maybe Dr. Laura should shuffle back on over to 790 nights.

So,

I reply to this message and ask if the reason you're ragging on the local line ups is due to harsh feelings about previous employment. Then to my suprise! My message is removed! Wow! Why have forums if you cannot discuss any ideas free of censorship?

I think the local line ups are just fine and we can wait an see what's next down the pike. Coming onto a forum and spouting off the second something is not to ones liking is just an example of "knee-jerk" generalizing.

Thanks!

KCUB is still running promos this weekend for Glenn Beck 7-10 am.

Does anybody know of a listing of stations that are going to carry Imus? I imagine that WABC's live stream is going to be overloaded.

I heard the syndication is going to be very limited at first... just in the big markets. They're charging more than they used to, so that might price out a lot of smaller markets.

It's not like he did well anywhere but a few large markets anyway.

Imus was on a bunch of dog stations. I think Phil Boyce will do a better job than WW1 did. For small stations in the top-25 and -30 markets, I hear numbers in the $15-20k/yr range, and the syndication, "due to popular demand", is going full throttle today.

As to the poster who (I think) was accusing me of being fired by a local station, they would be incorrect. I lived in Phoenix and did spend some time with a couple of the talk stations in Tucson, but not as an employee. Sorry.

I would love it if a station in this market brought in a show for evenings called NightSide. I heard it one night on a drive back from Cali on its originating station KSL. It's pop culture, tech, water cooler talkradio. It just expanded into the Phoenix market as well. This could also be done locally, with the right talent.
