Talk radio host Jay Severin

Wow. Congratulations to the Jay bird. Miraculous recovery matches Jimmy Carter.

Jay Severin was a host on 96.9 FM Talk in Boston.
He also did a national show, Jay Severin Has Issues
and did a TV show on the Blaze

Michael Graham tweet:
"Jay Severin passed away this week. He did me one of the biggest favors of anyone in my professional life: He's the reason I came to Boston. It took me a while to discover New England, but once I got here, I knew it was the place I wanted to call home.

Thanks, Jay." https://t.co/2AX3ObzINU

Yes; not too long ago he said he had made a recovery (May?) but then he said he had a bit of a relapse. He had been planning to do some kind of podcast show or whatever on a Sunday but then
said he was too weak or couldn't really speak.

Even back in the WTKK days his remarks got him into trouble, suspended, fired.
Dan Kennedy, March 2011 : "But it seems that WTKK Radio (96.9 FM) talk-show host Jay Severin has been suspended again."

A month later, D Kennedy: "In what I’m sure will be a surprise to no one, Greater Media has announced that WTKK Radio (96.9 FM) talk-show host Jay Severin has been fired."

He did resurface again. By Jan of 2013 WTKK had changed format to "Hot". WXKS 1200 had changed to talk in 2010. By March or April, Severin and Jeff Katz were hired for "Talk 1200 Boston".But:

>>Local hosts Jeff Katz and Jay Severin were both dismissed from WXKS on August 6, 2012, Katz was reassigned to then-co-owned WRVA/Richmond, Virginia, while Severin joined TheBlaze Radio Network

(1200 after a comedy stint went to Bloomburg ...iHeart's Conserv talk re-emerged on 1430 but later got shifted back to 1200)

Dear Moderators

I can't tell you how much it pisses me off when you take a 9 year old thread and move it to the Radio Discussions grave yard because the person who is the subject died.

This thread was fine when we were discussing declining health, new radio gig, better health, but the guy drops dead and he is wiped from the Boston discussion board.

You continually do this and my question is WHY?

I don't read the In Memoriam section, I come to RD via a bookmark right to the Boston Forum.

I already have a bookmark for the Boston Globe Obituary page, I don't need one for a RD Obit page.

Luckily I have a paid subscription to Fybush, it may take a week but I will eventually find out about such things.

Please reconsider your policy !!!
