It looks like Rush Limbaugh has found a new home in Indianapolis and may soon find one in Boston. In each city, Rush had been carried by the top Talk Radio station in town, but each is dropping the program soon. In Indianapolis, Rush will now air on an iHeart-owned AM station that had been 24/7 Fox Sports. Now, for three hour each weekday, 5000 watt 1260 WNDE will break for Rush. That is a come-down from being on 93.1 WIBC, with its full-power FM signal.
In Boston, no affiliate has been announced yet. 50,000 watt 680 WRKO did not want to renew Rush and the city's other Talk Radio station, 50,000 watt 1510 WMEX, which already runs Hannity, Beck and Savage, says it doesn't want Limbaugh. (Which I don't understand. WMEX wants the #2, #3 and #4 syndicated Talk Radio shows but not the #1?) However, Salem is buying Radio Disney outlet 1260 WMKI (stands for Mickey). Some are speculating that Salem will put its Conservative Talk format on the station, since it already has outlets for its Religion and Spanish Religion formats in Boston. So Rush might end up there. Again, a come-down from a 50 kw Boston outlet low on the dial to a 5 kw affiliate high on the dial.

2. Los Angeles ... KFI (iHeart) #9 ... KEIB (iHeart) #33 ... KABC (Cumulus) #38 tie
3. Chicago ... WGN (Tribune) #8 tie ... WLS (Cumulus) #28
4. San Francisco ... KSFO (Cumulus) #16 ... KGO (Cumulus) #25 ... KKSF (iHeart) #27 tie

* I only include commercial Talk stations that scored at least a one rating, except for heritage Talk outlet KABC Los Angeles and Rush's LA outlet, KEIB.
