Talk show host Dave Ramsey / good or bad?

Tell me about the talk show host Dave Ramsey. I've seen the
billboards in Atlanta. What do you think are strengths or
weaknesses? Just figure you guys are in the know after the
Hannity and Boortz threads.

From an informational stand point as far as it relates to his particular area of expertise, I find Ramsey to be very good.

agreed: but if you've heard Ramsey more than once...you've heard it all.
The names and situations on-air change, but the theme remains
"cut up your cards...buy a used car...pay off the debt"
Again, not a criticism...just how I perceive it.<P ID="signature">______________

Dave Ramsey/Clark Howard - Differences???

At the risk of getting specific, I think it would be cool to put Dave Ramsey and Clark Howard on the same program, let them talk until they came to a point of disagreement, and debate THAT.

(BTW, I like both; I just think it would be interesting.)

Where do you think their point of disagreement would be??

If you listen to both programs carefully you will find one underlying theme with each host. Clark Howard's theme is to inform the consumer as to how to search for the lowest price, best bargain, etc. Dave Ramsey teaches listeners how to manage their money. Clark does also but it's not his MAIN point. It seems secondary to finding the lowest price.

Maybe it's me but it seems like a slight change in viewpoint.

I think both hosts have good information; however, I enjoy listening to Clark. I have to force myself to listen to Ramsey. Clark is very respectful to his listeners. Dave Ramsey often comes across as talking down to or brow beating them. I don't know if he is aware of this tone but I find it annoying. If I were going to call one for advice it would definitely be Clark. At least I know he wouldn't make me feel stupid.

Clark, is o.k., but Ramsey RULES !!!!! Daves approach is more to my liking.
He looks at life in the eyes of someone who does not have a lot. Clark looks at life through those glasses, as in rose colored, at folks who have already achieved much and are trying to get more. Dave says house debt is the only kind to have, AGREED. (Now if I can get my credit straight, Pay off the KGB, Whoops I mean the IRS, Please Fair tax, lets go, and abolish the damn tax folks..Gee A X Wife can really screw you huh?)

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of Dave’s too. But his show is a two-hour commercial of self-promotion and steering listeners to use his ELPs (Endorsed Local Providers), which he endorses because they’re PAID sponsors. Dave also voices spots for a local Atlanta car dealership hawking used cars that are “Dave’s Deals”, nuff said?

When Clark Howard was a self-made millionaire and retired by his early 30s, Dave Ramsey had declared bankruptcy and was broke!
