Talk show host moving

Surprised no one has picked up on this yet. Salem announces they are putting the 6th most listened to talk show host in america on KSKY from 6 to 9am, starting in January. It's a major coup, stealing the show from a major competetor. He will take the shift now held by the expert on the virtues of gambling and the demographics of crime and race. The big guy will do a live local show, and will do his national show from the Salem complex in Irving.

6th most listened to?? Wow! That's huge!
Could you maybe give us the list of the most listened to talk show hosts in America so we could figure out who you are talking about?

It's their claim, not mine.

Ankarlo will lose sleep tonight. You KNOW it's not him. He's the 6th LEAST listened to, and falling.

KSKY: "Liberals Hate It, Conservatives Hate It...Shoot, Everybody Hates It." (Just check the books back to Day One. They'd been better off letting the screaming preachers keep buying blocks of time.) It'll take more than bringing in another blowhard like Ollie North or Glenn Beck to make any kind of increase in KSKY's ratings. Maybe a Dr James Dodson or similar neo-Christian would be more proper at a Salem-owned station. Scooter "G. Gordon" Libby needs a job now, too.

Who is this "expert" you mention that's losing his show? Bill "Kill all the black babies" Bennett, perhaps?

Your post sounds more like a press release. That 0.6 in the last book is hardly worth wasting bandwidth about here. Signal-challenged Air America will probably overtake KSKY in the next book.

>
> Your post sounds more like a press release.
Yes. It comes from a press release forwarded to me.
Mike Gallagher is replacing Bill Bennett and an hour of Laura Ingraham.
More bandwidth hereby wasted.

I figure Laura Ingraham has to be among the top shows on KSKY (where top means a 0.8 in demos). Why cut into her? SRN is a bunch of morons for stealing this crapheap of a show from its best weekday affiliate ever (yes, even as bad as KRLD is). What will KRLD do... maybe they could bring back that Ben guy. Whatever it is, it had better be local, although I wouldn't expect much from the Infinity braintrust (Adam Corolla's new show will air 8-noon CT... bingo!). Maybe Rick Roberts could bring his sorry routine back to DFW, as his show also airs 8-noon, and is already simulcast in part on KOKC/Oklahoma City.

Did the KSKY folks decide that Bill Bennett's latest faux pas is too much to handle? Or did they just feel like petitioning corporate like big whiners? BTW, the guy below apparently hasn't realized that KLIF already has Glenn Beck, who is among the top performers on the station, which even as the bottomfeeder it is makes KSKY look even weaker.

OK!!! Who is it or is the information wrong. Who is the host that is going to save KSKY?

Couple of options...Jody Dean could do 9 to noon at KRLD after his morning drive gig at KLUV...just before he goes off to do the 4 p.m. news at 11..:)kidding JD...

Or, P&K could do 9 to noon, then do their noon to 3 show on KLLI...

Or, RMS do 9 to noon to test out material for their 3 to seven show. Then KLLI could play the best of RMS after Love Line, followed by the Best of RMS on AM until 6...

Or, hell, dust off Kevin...

a coup? You joking? Mike already bombed on every station in the market. it's good he goes to the smallest?? Hardly anybody carries the national show, Talkers is b.s.

I second for K-Mac. If there was a time we needed his aural healing powers, now would be it. I also agree MG is just a bottomfeeder biding his time till retirement. The guy stinks, he hasnt brought in the numbers promised and should promptly be thrown back to whatever market he came from. KSKY/Salem Witchtrial Corp. should keep the Bill "babykiller" Bennett show on where it is now. KRLD would be better suited to bringing in either K-MAC or Boortz for an airshift.

Wow! Shocking news there( ;) ) considering the staff of KSKY hated Bill Bennett before his mouth got him into trouble.. The staff called his show
"Bill Bendit's Boring in America".Mike Gallegher is a Salem property even at KRLD.He has been for the last 5 years alone and used to do the show from the Salem Studios in Irving. So he is returning home. KRLD most likely felt not to renew his contract thus he cried to Salem to put him on their station in Dallas.
I would not be surprised if Ben Dover,Ernie Brown,or maybe another attempt by Charlie Jones, take over the midday slot once more. KRLD recycles alot. Heck put in a Brad Sham sports call in show, that might work.

Re: Talk on KSKY..News on KRLD?

Bring back Dover! But ... let him do what he does best ... be Dover. His consumer stuff was very interesting. Investigative reporting on the radio.

Let me see if I understand this correctly Grant.

You're a reporter.

Yet you repeat things as fact that you have NOT checked out?

"Who, What, When, Where, Why ... and How?"

Ring a bell?

Sorry, didn't mean to chop your head off with my last post!! Just figured it was some Salem employee tooting the station's horn over something that's only more small potatoes.
