Talker's 2011 was excellent!!!

As usual, Michael Harrison and everyone involved did an amazing job. I had a blast and it was fun meeting some you personally!!! I promise I'll come up with a better radio-info.com handle. Maybe I could take this one... "Dump button".

Dr. D

If there wasn't serious and substantive talk about getting the hell away from all-partisan all-the-time, then I'm not interested in whatever lame justification is being promoted to kill off the format in the coming years.

Talkradio has become sickeningly boring and predictable. We don't hear personalities, we hear talking point robots.
I listen to talk a lot less than I ever did before...and I am in their suppposed target demo.

It was a great event and was nice meeting you, Daliah.

What exactly did you talk about at 'Talkers'? Because I'm still hearing the usual Right Wing yada yada CRAP eminating from my radio. It is still very very boring. Where's the entertainment??????? So, what did you people talk about???

I'm there to talk about the industry and meet decision makers. But inevitably there are discussions between talk hosts about issues. Of course the conservaclones are in attendance, but so are progressives and libertarians.

I was expecting a full hour discussion on how a sassy medical/health talk show would colossally change the face of radio....and then anticipated the speakers pleading with the audience if anyone present performed such an earthshattering feat..

Didn't happen.

Until lifestyle talk, progressive talk or some variation proves to be a better option that is what you predominantly hear from your radio. Even with the erosion of NT numbers in some markets, conservative talk is still a very viable and healthy format. The great thing about it is that shows like Dr. Daliah and other lifestyle programs can fit in nicely with political line ups. In fact I might argue that it makes the station sound a bit more well rounded.

So true, so true..... :)

I'm not sure if at this meeting we ran into eachother, Signal, but if not wave me down at the next one.

From what I saw on the Twittersphere during the event on Saturday, Stephanie Miller - who would later accept a "woman of the year" award from WABC's PD Laurie Cantillo (IMHO, should have been the other way around) - got into a heated argument with another panelist (I believe it was Martha Zoller from Georgia) and caused her to storm off! Or was it the other way around... I don't know, I wasn't there this year... Is it on YouTube?

This is rumor control; here are the facts:

Actually, it was Steve Malzberg who stormed off the Talk Rumble Panel.

Laurie Cantillo won the "Woman of the Year" award last year.
