Talkers 2013 Heavy Hundred

I saw that, I bet he will mention it, he used to be number 5 I think.

I wonder who pays for the Billboards I see promoting him, the stations, Ramsey, the syndicator??

Again, read the boilerplate, Paragraph 3 in particular. Talkers Heavy-Handed Hundred is nothing but subjective opinion, and I'm sure an ad (such as the one for Andrea Tantaros) can help shape that opinion. ;)

Free Talk Live cracks the top 50 at #47! Yay for us! 8)

Laporte is distributed by CC's Premiere Radio. I used to like Kim Komando, but as with most talk radio, the spot breaks are very repetitive and she has a tendency to have a bunch of her own stuff to promote. That makes for very little content within the hour.

Laporte has become my favorite tech guy.

I was a little disappointed to see Talkers didn't include the additional 150 names beyond the top 100. Always seemed like a nice shout-out for good local hosts around the country.

Talkers has two lists. "Heavy Hundred" does not claim to reflect just audience size. That the "Audiences" list. Heavy Hundred is more about buzz. Somebody new making splash can show up in a high position.

There are also those who contend the list reflects whether or not you buy ads in Talkers.

That's a small part of why I liked the expanded list beyond #1 - #100. I mean, it's not like local hosts are buying ads in Talkers or anywhere else. I dunno, it's not a big thing but I was just a little disappointed not to see it.

I like Laporte but I wish, 1) he didn't sound so full of himself and 2) he didn't sound like he smokes three packs of cigarettes a day. Neither may be true but that's how he sounds to me.

Truly, another triumphant listing of the best Talk Radio Talent in the US!

Congratulations Michael Harrison! Well Done, Sir!

I'm pretty sure he doesn't smoke.

Personally, I prefer Tom Merritt, who hosts Tech News Today on TWiT and is the network's news director. He's the only person who, if he was to make the (highly unlikely) jump to broadcasting, could get me to start listening to commercial talk radio again.

There's always Mark Levin, who sounds like he gargles with razor blades. :D

They finally got rid of the old giant JPG format. Progress!

The list itself? As bad as ever. But then again, its only purpose seems to be to provide show prep for the people on the list and fodder for people like us to argue over.

Paraphrasing Joe Pyne's instructions to callers, 1966.
