Talkers Magazine's Spring Listenship data

For what it is worth...if anything...not sure when it came out exactly.

http://www.talkers.com/main/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=34

Some notes and oddities:

-Dave Ramsey's numbers. I know he has his own TV show now on the Fox Business Channel, but his radio show remains largely on second-tier stations.
-Rusty Humphries' numbers. Seem a little high, not sure what big stations he's on other than KNEW. Here in my area he's on WYSL, a second-tier station.
-Don Imus' numbers are back to where they were before he was taken off the air, or at least in the same range.
-Dennis Prager is finally listed.

Keep in mind that these numbers are estimates, and actual numbers may be far off from these.

Dave's got quantity going with over 300 affiliates, and an afternoon drive timeslot. Even the lower rated PM shows will trounce overnights on big stations.

Another oddity is Mancow. Isn't he only on in a couple dozen medium-to-little markets? Any big market he's on in is a clunker of a signal, like WALR in Atlanta or KTRB San Francisco. He was also listed in the same 1.75+ million category on this site when he was still on in Chicago.

There's also Bob Costas' radio show, which is on over 220 stations. Somehow it doesn't show up here, yet Kim Komando's show does, and according to this list she and Jim Rome are equals.

I know. Ramsey is not carried in New York.

Boortz seems a little high as does Jerry Doyle.
Dennis Miller is wayyyyy down there, as is that loudmouth Stephanie Miller who frequently makes fun of McCain's age. What's next: knocking Obama for his race or gender?

Such loudmouth behavior as you call it, Don, normally occurs when one is about to have a birthday.

Stephanie's is tomorrow. Her producer says she's turning 62. ;)

Will she take more low blows against other politicians?
Will she blather on about how Barak a "half breed" as he's of mixed race?
Or calling someone "a cripple" or "fat."
Of course, those descriptions may be accurate, but they're just as irrational as making fun of McCain's age.

Shows a lack of intelligence, maturity, taste and class on the host's part.

Don, your comments show a lack of listenership on your part. I listen to Steph daily, and she doesn't engage in the type of banter you describe.

I believe you may be referring to Laura Ingraham, who did use the term "Halfrican" to describe Obama.

No, Stephanie Miller frequently knocks McCain for his age. She calls him "Grampy."

Sounds like ageism to me.

So, Don, are you grumpy because Steph calls McCain Grampy? ;D

Ronald Reagan (and his campaign handlers) were able to use his age as an advantage. It speaks to the McCain campaign's own intellectual deficiencies that they can't do the same.
