Tallgrass

I'm currently on the beach and trying to find an on-air job. I heard Tallgrass just bought a bunch of stations in southeast Kansas, where I am currently living. Does anybody know who I'd talk to about any openings? Or what they are like to work for?

Best company I've ever worked for. Hands down. Currently no openings, but always keeping our eyes open. Get a hold of the Natl Ops manager via KIND in Independence.

From everything I've heard, Bill Kurtis is a good guy and most everyone likes him. However, he also apparently doesn't plan on bulking up his staff, at least in the short term. It looks like he intends to make his money by running lean operations and selling fewer spots at higher cost.

By the way, Mark, what's the story on KEKS 103.1 in Emporia? Is it still doing CHR? I heard Tallgrass was going to expand the playlist but also cut down on the staff. It seems like it would be pretty difficult to expand a CHR's playlist and still be CHR!
