Tammy Kolvack traffic reports

I hear Tammy Kolvack (sp?) doing traffic reports for stations in the Lancaster/ Harrisburg area. I assume that she works for Traffax. My question is, how did this woman get a job in radio with such a nasal voice? On top of that, it sounds like it is combined with what may be a NY accent. Brother!

Two words to solve all of traffax's problems: Jeni Gipe.

I heard her in the morning a few days ago. Then, I hear her in the afternoon. Later, she's on Chris' station doing her evening gig.

My gawd, this radio goddess is everywhere and she has all of Central PA demanding more. More Jeni! She knows how to talk, modulate, and fixes her mistakes with the utmost style.

Tammy Kolvak is a legend and you dont say anything bad about her! You get me!

I registered a complaint about the overmodulation of her reports with one Lanc. County station. They kindly replied that they had noticed it also and have asked Tammy to "back off" from the mike and pot it down a bit.

Moved away from the area a bit ago, heard through the grape vine that Doud Patton Passed away. Any news?

Yes, we got an email this morning that Doug Patton has passed away. An apparent heart attack yesterday afternoon. He was a great guy and will be missed.

OMG! How old was Doug? Was he still working for Traffax?

2007, Doug would've reached age 45, he was 31 when we met. Back then, he keep a large,
venomous snake in his apartment livingroom (in an aquarium). :D

I last saw and spoke to Doug just about two years ago, when I worked for a furniture store.
He was newly married, and didn't recognize me until he looked at my nametag. :)

His wife gave me their contact info, and I tried to stay in touch, but people have lives, and
one keeps strange hours working as a Traffic Reporter.

Was he still working for Traffax?

Yeah, since circa Spring 1997. Prior to Traffax, Doug worked for WOYK (1350), WEGK (92.7),
WHTF (92.7), and an AC outlet in Chambersburg.

If any of the old-school crowd is reading this thread, I have the information regarding Doug's funeral.
Send me a personal message via this Website.

"And Tammy asks that you back away from your keyboard."

Wow, what an intellegent remark. You must be a Harvard graduate.

It seems to me that a "radio professional's" inability to know how closely to speak to the mike and avoid overmodulation is a valid criticism.

Doug's snake was actually a boa - not poisonous but not overly friendly. It was sold a long, long time ago. Yes, Doug passed away Wednesday morning on his way home from work from a heart attack. I heard my brother every day on the radio but it never dawned on me how many people actually knew him, or felt like they new him because of his job. He will be sorely missed.

OH, that's right. I suppose I remembered the snake being [possibly] venomous because he would sometimes
strike at Doug's cat (Charlie?) when it walked near the aquarium. :)

Wait... It was I who didn't notice him first, when I left for lunch and walked past Doug and his wife.
When I returned, the couple were still there, talking to a salesperson. After walking by them again,
I realized I knew that dude. I said some greeting (?), THEN he looked at my tag.

Just for kicks, let's list some present and past Traffic Reporters...
Allison Moore, Doug Patton, Jess Zambroski, Melanie Gardner, Jeni Gipe, Maria ??? (a cute brunette),
Libby Kay, Chris Kelly, Brian Freeman, Steve Knight, etc.

Correction: Allison Morrison

Actually, its Allison Morris. Some others...Dave Scott, Randy Johnson(in between jock gogs, I was always expecting him to say "that's the traffic...here's Metallica", Glenda Machia, who was very good. Miss Doug very much. He did traffic on my show for 6 or 7 years. May he rest in peace. Reminds you (I'm 9 years older than he was) how short life is.
