Tampa Bay needs a AAA

Tampa needs a AAA station already. I am so sick of 107.3's Eagle format. It is the same music over and over again. How do people listen to it? C'mon, we need to hear new David Gilmour, Rolling Stones, Steely Dan.

Wake up, people.

Do what I did. Get XM. Deep Tracks (40), XM Cafe (45), and The Loft (50) are more than you will ever need to get that AAA fix. 75% of the music you hear on those 3 stations never get played on the FM dial, at least in this town. Best part is none of them bill themselves as "The New" anything! ::)

I make cd's for the truck (which doesn't have XM) of a great internet station. www.radioparadise.com
Just record an hour, burn it to a CD and stick it in the changer.

Check them out.

Tampa Bay needs an Urban AC. I'm tired of hip-hop and rap all over the place. The closest alternative in this market is WSJT, but that station gets tiresome after a while. I would get a satellite radio in my car, but I like local. A satellite station won't care what the local traffic is, and won't mention what band is playing at what club that I might want to see. I believe there's enough of a black community (and crossover white and spanish) to support such a station. It would take audience from Wild, SJT, The Beat, and a couple of others that they are now getting by default. Good demos too, 25-54.

I have been avoiding the purchase of an HD radio. I like the look and fel of my stock radio. Note, HD will not take off until it is in all automobile stock radios. 2012?

There are at least two HD Radio adapters available you can use with your existing car radio. They will either feed into an external audio jack or they have a built-in FM modulator. Personally, I listen to the HD2 channels all of the time, they're not as restricted in music as the main channels are.

BMW has HD radios stock now. GM and FORD both this fall. Nissan and others early 2008.

Again more bad information. My buddy's new 5 series doesget multicast.
As proof see this story....

DETROIT - January 7, 2007: BMW expands its pioneering position in providing high-quality audio systems by becoming the first automotive firm to offer a factory-installed digital HD Radio(TM) receiver as an option across its entire 2007 product line. This option, will be available in the spring on all 2007 3, 5, 6, and 7 Series models, as well as X3, X5, and Z4.
It now includes HD Radio multicast reception capability,

Hey there! Just got back from a week in Tampa/Clearwater and honestly there were quite a few similarities to what we have in the NYC Metro Area...saturation of formats and NO VARIETY! I spent most of my time listening to "The Bone" but EVERY single sweeper had something to do with the "Bone Workforce." Now I understand the premise of drilling something into the listeners head, but it got SO annoying I went scanning. Plus the fact do they play anything OTHER than VH, Rush or ACDC?? I totally like those bands but OVERKILL

When I went dial scanning I landed on "The Point" which had MORE of a variety than anything else I found. But I often found myself scanning after a couple of tunes. A bummer when it comes to TSL huh!? And even though Scott Shannon's "True Oldies" is syndicated satellite stuff, when I could pull it in, I enjoyed it. I kinda felt like I was at home in the NYC metro with NO Oldies and CRAP on the dial to listen to. The ONLY exception was that it was "Different" Crap! ;D

As for the "adapter" to get the HD-2 channels, what is that and where do I find one and is it compatible for all cars/radios? I just bought a New Tacoma and don't feel like disassembling the radio and screwing around with finding a kit for a new one. I would have gladly foregone the CD Changer for an I*Pod jack atleast LOL! hell even GM is sticking THOSE in their current model year cars...

Any help would be appreciated!

PS- I miss FLA already :'(
