Tampa Ratings December 2025

Other than The Dove returning to 1st place as well as Mix in the top 5 with holiday hits and both country stations taking a dip, nothing to see here.

I’m surprised that WDUV gets the majority of the Christmas music share. I spent last month flipping between Mix and Dove and thought Mix had the much better holiday playlist. All the hits were there and the tempo was fairly consistent overall. Meanwhile, The Dove seemed to go a little deeper and would often play several slow songs in a row. Also it felt like Mix had fewer commercials. I guess since The Dove has been doing it longer, most people just gravitate to it without checking the competition.

They don't gravitate to it, their radios are already on it and they don't feel the need to sample what else is out there. Seniors get set in their ways and get cranky if forced to change.

"And now, another hour of music free commercials."
An Internet radio station run by Howard Hoffman, Great Big Radio, has several witty liners leading into the Live365 ad spots. One of them is:

"Great Big Radio! Now with two minutes of music-free commercials!"
