Tampa Ratings Holiday 2025

The Dove and Mix along with Joy (I believe they were playing holiday hits as well) finish in the Top 3. Magic and 98 Rock continue to trend up, while Eagle, WDAE, WFLA and both country stations are trending down. Even WUSF is going down... is public radio dead?

It's just one rating period. I would wait to see the January 26 numbers before drawing that conclusion, especially because some of those listeners could have switched over to the Christmas music (even with the format switch being on WDUV in the December period).

Country and rock formats are always down during the holiday ratings period. What I find notable in this report is how WFLZ has bounced back after quite a few years of 2's and 3's. Maybe CHR isn't dead in Tampa Bay. Also worth noting in that in the last couple months, it's obvious that Rumba, Maxima, El Zol, and Mega are ALL battling over the same audience and none are standing out from the rest. Special props to Mega on Tampa translator 101.1 FM and daytime 1110 AM for hanging with the other three. That's saying something.
