Tanguay out, Gresh in at 98.5 !

Maybe because Tanguay will most likely be on WEEI/Comcast Baseball Show .

Was going to post this last night when I saw it on Boston Sports Media but they were going on two
tweets which were then deleted (they were by Courtney Fallon). The fact that the tweets were deleted
made me wonder if it was true (they were awaiting confirmation) and I guess it is

that sucks i know gresh is good but why couldn't they ave had a 3person show similar to the big show he did co host maybe that was a tryout and also i thought he had a weekend show?? hmmmm

Gresh is LOUD ! LIKE HE IS YELLING ALL THE TIME !!! SHUTUP !!

Weren't these two together on a RI station that bombed? I seem to remember Zolak saying that Steve from Fall River single-handedly killed their show. I guess he called every day.........and they didn't have many callers so they took his calls.

Tanguay & Zolak lagged behind the other shows in the ratings. The rest of the staff have a much more youthful delivery and energy that Gary didn't. He's a better fit with the Geritol set at WEEI.

To me Gresh is a lateral move. I'm not sure the market will tune into him on a daily basis. Let's see if he's just a placeholder until Sheppard waits out the remainder of his WEEI deal.

Those were my thoughts exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if Sheppard ended up with Zolak.

There's a rather humorous paradox here: T&R loved lambasting Tanguay and mocking his self-important 'radio voice.' They got a contract extension; Tanguay got canned.

Also, is the person who Tweeted (and then 'recanted') still employed? No corporation would ever stand for such a breach of inside information.

Herald said Tanguay may still be at CBS Radio Boston in some capacity

http://bostonherald.com/track/insid...gary_tanguay_strikes_out/srvc=home&position=6

>>insiders seemed confident yesterday he’ll remain with the CBS Radio Group .

It was said he wasn't connecting to his audience and ratings were bad. Oh and don't forget, when you have a Herald gossip or media biz column about something like this (and I've done the same thing), you must include the following cliche:

>>As always, do stay tuned.

Brilliant

But will he do some work for the Pats broadcasts on 98.5? Preseason is about 4 months away and as Bruce A.
pointed out at http://www.bostonsportsmedia.com
Maybe he will sit out the 5 months but show up anyway as part of Pats coverage

>>Will he be part of the Patriots programming this fall? Since those broadcasts are run by the club, you very well might hear Tanguay back on the 98.5 airwaves later this summer for those broadcasts.
