Taylor Swift- The Story of Us

The song The Story of Us by Taylor Swift is being played everywhere! Its a good song and Taylor Swift is one of my favorite singers but it is way too overplayed

^And I have yet to hear How To Love/Li'l Wayne impact the Atlanta market (or most other markets in the country)... ::)

Hmmm...absolutely no rhythmic-bias to this board...

That's weird.....I would think that Atlanta would've been spinning Lil' Wayne by now.

By the same token, seeing that WKQI is taking a Mainstream CHR approach, I would expect them to have been played Taylor Swift's new hit by now.

KQI definitely isn't mainstream CHR - they're WAY to the Rhythmic side

As far as Tay Swift, the airplay leaders are mostly medium-small market, but WIOQ/Philadelphia is playing them a lot - anyhow, it's #21 on the CHR chart

V 103 Atlanta is playing it. That is according to YES.com. Seems most of the CBS Urban and Rhythmic stations are playing it.

Also is this right, V 103 Atlanta is playing "Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song", that can't be right. But it said that on YES.com for WVEE

'KQI used to be mainstream from late-2009 up until recently. They were playing Taylor Swift "Back to December" for a short period of time. They also played Plain White T's, Linkin Park, and Nickelback during their Mainstream approach as well.

I personally don't see why they started to lean back towards the Rhythmic side......THEY SOUNDED BETTER WHEN THEY WERE MAINSTREAM

Maybe it gets a lot of play where you are, but it has yet to reach its peak. Give just a little bit longer, though.

Actually, all of Detroit's CHRs have been adding some Non-Rhythmic titles lately.
98.7 Amp Radio added Hot Chelle Rae's "Tonight Tonight" a couple of weeks back and now it's pretty much Top 20 at the station. The song is also in light rotation at Channel 95-5 with about 15 plays per week. Selena Gomez is also getting about the same amount of spins on Channel with "Who Says".
One Republic's "Good Life" is Top 30 at Amp, and is Top 10 at Channel 95-5's sister station, 106.7 The Beat.

Channel 95-5 has been sounding amazing lately, and has been finding its own hits. For example, they're playing "This Is What Rock & Roll Looks Like" by Porcelain Black
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9LCHgpzfxQ

Channel 95-5 just added Bruno Mars "Marry You", which already did well on Milwaukee's Kiss FM, and on 106.1 BLI Long Island

Another Channel 95-5 hit is Christian TV "I'm In Love"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qS-_hkzrues

And lastly, check out Bad Meets Evil Feat. Bruno Mars "Lighters", which is about to go Top 10 at Channel 95-5. Already heard stations in London playing this as well.

But I'd thought when 106-7 The Beat switched from Rhythmic AC to Rhythmic contemporary in 2010 9-5-5 would take more of a Mainstream approach. At least, that's what was assumed seeing that The Beat cut down on the Gold and started playing more current hits.....

I personally don't include 106.7 The Beat on my CHR list. Even though my lists do include stations the industry classifies as Hot A/C and Rhythmic CHR, and even though I personally love the music mix on WDTW.
While the station supports plenty of Currents, 106.7 The Beat still plays plenty of Gold and Recurrents that I find to be beyond the scope of Contemporary Hit Radio.
Looking at the music logs from the past 24 hours you'll find titles like
Kriss Kross "Jump"
Sweet Sensation "Hooked On You"
Will Smith "Miami"
Neneh Cherry "Buffalo Stance"
Planet Soul "Set U Free"
Dead or Alive "Brand New Lover"
Madonna "Express Yourself"
Cameo "Word Up"
Rockell "In A Dream"
Billie Ray Martin "Your Loving Arms"
Brian Mcknight "Anytime"
Keith Sweat "Twisted"
Shannon "Give Me Tonight"
Mariah Carey "Someday"
La Bouche "Sweet Dreams"
Destiny's Child "Say My Name"
No Mercy "Where Do You Go"
Michel'le "No More Lies"
Johnny Gill "Rub You The Right Way"
ATC "Around The World"
KWS "Please Don't Go"
Bobby Brown "On Our Own"
Tag Team "Whoomp There It Is"

Meanwhile over in New York, 103.5 KTU has never been as Current-based as it is right now! While they still play plenty of Recurrents, the station very rarely plays anything older than 10 years old.

But, again, this is the forum for CHR/Pop - there are other forums for Urban and Rhythmic (which I'm sure are playing Li'l Wayne to death!)

V-103 has become rather eclectic for an Urban station. It's currently playing Adele, Katy Perry, and Ke$ha in some dayparts.
The Urban stations used to be known for this type of music mix back in the Frankie Crocker days of WBLS, or the early 80s incarnation of 98.7 Kiss FM.

Agreed. I also like the music mix on WDTW as well (I don't really stream KTU like that because when I think of NY radio, I think of Hot 97 and Z-100....just my personal taste). From your personal taste, what do you see WDTW as? Do you classify them as a Rhythmic Adult Contemporary station seeing they really don't play AS MUCH RAP as a Rhythmic contemporary station does?

I know. But I looked at it as you were talking about Atlanta in general.

Anyways what CHR's are playing Lil Wayne's - "How To Love" As I have only heard it on Rhythmic and Urban

The only stations I can find that would be "overplaying" it at this point would be WEZB/New Orleans, WNOU/Indy, and WZFT/Baltimore - there are a bunch of small market stations on it, probably cause small markets don't have Urbans and/or Rhythmics

Z100 did add it this week, and it's #7 on ITunes, so maybe it'll be overplayed on CHR in a couple months

Today I heard it on Z 107.5 Wilmington, NC which is a great sounding CHR. Plays the new stuff with still playing some other hits like "Party Like A Rockstar", "Sugar", etc. Also in Wilmington the Urban (Coast 97.3) is playing it.

As for NY, I would say if z100 is playing it 92.3 Now FM has to be also.
