Taylor Tubes?

Anybody have experience on the Taylor (China) larger transmitter tubes? They are 1/3 the cost of domestic product, but
the low price makes me suspicious...any comments? Thanks JBI

I used 4 of there 4-400 tubes in a CCA AM 1000D a few years ago. One tube died after about a month with a screen to control grid short and one melted down when a blower failed about a month later. The other 2 tubes lasted about a year or a little more. I think both tubes that failed were in the RF output stage. Not sure on that.
If you try them let us how they do .

I can't speak for their transmitting tubes as I've not used any, but I've basically boycotted
anything out of China.

Their cheap crappy exports have killed whole countries' economies and put thousands out of work.

The quality is poor (in the majority of cases) and the cheaper price is false economy.

The rapid expansion and continual growth of trade and industry in China is partly responsible for the increase in
cost of fossil fuels - meaning I pay more to run my vehicle each week due to the junk they are churning out.

Nothing they make lasts - so it ends up in a landfill sooner, and there's more of it because people are drawn to the
low prices.

An item that is a third of the cost of a comparable unit has to ring alarm bells. Somewhere in the manufacturing process
at least 2 or 3 corners must have been cut to produce it for that price and still make a profit.

For something as critical as an on-air TX, I wouldn't be going the cheap road.

Ok, rant over.. LOL. ;D
