TBS - Post Season MLB & Announcing Teams

If TBS is serious about wanting to be a player in broadcasting post-season games, they need to hire better announcers. Most of the "teams" they've assembled are horrible! They are totally biased and are continually gushing all over their personal favorities. This Steve Stone guy is the WORST of all.

Stone is considered by most knowledgeable baseball fans as one of the best analysts in the business, although his voice can grate a bit if you're not used to it (read: if you're not from Chicago).

Unfortunately, he was paired up with the woefully pathetic Ted Robinson. I've never seen him before and I don't know which team he's with during the regular season (if any - I understand he used to be with the Angels years ago), but I feel sorry for fans who have to put up with him on a regular basis. I didn't know it was possible to be worse than Joe Buck, but Robinson figured out how.

I believe the NLCS will be called by Chip Caray, Bob Brenly, and Tony Gwynn (who shouldn't quit his day job either) on TBS. Buck & Tim McCarver will do the ALCS on Fox, as usual.

I think you're off about Ted Robinson. He did the Giants in the 90s and most recently the Mets. He does all major Tennis events and covers the Olympics as well. Robinson is as knowledgeable as anybody and I think he does a really good job.

I don't think there was anything glaringly wrong with the TBS announce teams, other than Dick Stockton, who just needs to hang it up.

I can't wait for the Indians to send the Yankees home for the rest of the post-season just to see how all of these national blowhards will react without their overpriced prima donnas NOT being in the ALCS and/or World Series. They better have another team in mind to give on-air reach arounds to. :D

If Steve Stone is truly considered as one of the best analysts in the business, I would suggest he keep his regular job where they might believe that.
Oh wait......, he doesn't have one; Hmmm, wonder why....
While he waits to hear back from the Red Sox regarding his on-air audition, I look forward to FOX's coverage and can only open that ESPN gets back into post season coverage at some point in time.

All I can say it is better than Fox with the insipid Tim McCarver.

You're right - he did the Giants as well as the Twins, Mets, and A's, but not the Angels. I stand corrected.

Fortunately, he's headed back to football now. He's at least tolerable there.

I enjoyed Steve Stone's commentary. I think he was the best analyst they had on TBS. It would be great if they could team him back up with Chip Caray for the 26 regular season games next season on TBS>

The pairings on TBS are 100000 times better than Tim McCarver and Joe Buck-- They are just ridiculous. When I watch the Sox on the ALCS, you better believe I'm muting the TV and turning on our local radio guys for the call.
