TBS's new line up

As several posters on that thread commented, Saved by the Bell being absent from TBS is the end of an era!

I remember when I was growing up in the 90s, I would get home from school just after 2pm Pacific Time to catch double airings of SBTB and then I could switch over to WGN at 3pm and catch their double airing, and then at 5pm, KTLA would have their double airing.

They've also added 7 nightly hours a week of The Big Bang Theory.

Mon-Fri
7AM Home Improvement
8AM Fresh Prince
9AM Fresh Prince
9:30 House Of Payne
10AM Meet The Browns
10:30 Yes, Dear
11:30 Everybody Loves Raymond
NOON According To Jim
12:30 Meet The Browns
1PM American Dad
1:30 My Name Is Earl
2PM Everybody Loves Raymond
2:30 Friends
3PM The Office
3:30 According To Jim
4PM Friends
5PM Everybody Loves Raymond
6PM The King Of Queens
7PM Seinfeld

No wonder I hardly watch this network anymore. It's a toss up as to who has the worst
shows TBS or WGN American.

That schedule has "yuck" written all over it.

TBS was at its best when they had old shows like "The Brady Bunch" and Andy Griffith.

and "Seinfeld" just keeps chugging along

The mark of true genius. There are episodes of that which I've probably
seen 30 times....and I still burst out laughing when I see them again.

TBS needs to add Local News to it's channel because WGN America has local News and we need another National Channel maybe from KC or Orlando.

TBS isn't a local channel anymore. It's just another cable network.

I'd like the block with Raymond, King of Queens and Seinfeld, but not much else. I'll agree that they were better when they had more classic shows, and they're another network that has blown it along with WGN America in not going with more retro programming. :(

Im surpised TBS wont show the second verison of the show. It lasted for more than 7 years on TNBC. Screech is on it but more than likely its not as popular as the orignal one. I think the last network to carry it was USA. Neitherless with that 2 hour block Mon-Fri they run the enitre series in a month let it rest for a while the contract is up in March 2012 anyway

Why does WGN America show the Chicago local news?
I find 25% or more of the WGN Chicago news to be irrelevant outside the Chicago area. It's kind of
like watching the news from Canada. You know they are going to have SOME things that are
interesting...........along with some (gas main break today at Elm & 16th)...............that are not.

How about 3rd Rock From The Sun at 10PM Eastern instead? Well, that would cut down on WGN A
news profits............and we can't have that. Those profits are needed to buy that "fancy" list of
programs they offer.

As I'm sure much of you are tired of hearing me say this, TBS needs to invest more in original programming. Of course, they probably wouldn't want to risk their profits on creating new programming but networks such as Comedy Central and FX have invested in new comedy programming and have created hits.

I think, on an overall basis, TBS has more new hours of original programming a year than CC or FX. Remember, they have 8 hours per week with Conan and Lopez Tonight. Neither show can be cheap to produce.

How many people in this thread complaining about TBS not showing enough old shows are outside of the 18 to 49 demographic? Some of these shows (Seinfeld comes to mind) are 20+ years old- and effectively older than the younger portion of the demo they're trying to attract.

TBS is showing old shows- you're just older- and we're all older. Time marches on. Its one of those unfortunate side effects of the universe.

With that lineup, why waste all that money on cable or satellite when almost all of those rerun hasbeens are aired daily on OTA DTV? When did TBS stop their program start time at 5 minutes past the hour, when they gave up their status as a superstation? It seems to be just another lousy cable network.
