Around 1 AM this morning my Kenwood Plug-and-Play unit stopped playing. :-(
Fortunately, I have an extended service contract with Best Buy and a lifetime subscription with Sirius and, to the best of my knowledge, Sirius will do a free tuner swap for warranty radio replacements.
I'm tempted to go down to Best Buy (earliest I could do that is probably the middle of next week) and switch out my radio for a Sportster (which the car audio manager at my local Best Buy told me over the phone this afternoon is what they have). I strongly suspect I'd end up with a better radio than before. (For one thing, I'd have 30 presets rather than 24; for another, I understand there's a new "replay" feature that looks cool.)
Before I do that, though, does anyone have any idea about what could be going on?
I switched on my radio a few minutes before the problem arose. As I listened, I noticed a low-level obnoxious hum in the background. Presently I checked my sound system (such as it is) and wiring, and everything seemed to be in order (despite that I'd been having trouble with it earlier).
I unplugged my radio's home docking unit and plugged it back in. At that point, it essentially stopped working. The radio got stuck on the Sirius dog logo that comes on whenever the radio is starting up. Several times I went through this cycle in which I unplugged and plugged back in the radio and then presently started pressing buttons. Among the things I saw were "no channels available" and a set of four "000"s on the left of my radio's screen where I would expect to see channels. I also saw the screen go blank a few times, as well as presets 140 (which I have listened to a considerable amount when my radio is working) and 184 (which I don't).
Looks to me like I might have a short circuit or something.
I've had lesser radios than this come back after several days of not working.
Does anyone have any idea what might be happening or what I can do about it?
(Although, again, I'm Siriusly -- pun intended, forgive me -- tempted to just gather my equipment and make an expedition to Best Buy when I can... I'd still appreciate any decent tech advice, though.)

Later P.S. (this is the edited part of my post) -- This morning, the morning after I wrote this post, my Kenwood unit came back to life when I checked it. Of course I didn't have much time to listen to it just then, but it's nice that it's working again.
