Tech Problems At EWTN

My Grandparents rely on EWTN to watch their daily mass. Since 7am Sunday morning (according to them) EWTN is broadcasting picture without sound. So my gram called me up, & asked me to call the cable company. I did, & they said the problem is on EWTN'S side of things. I guess they prefer to run without a live human on the weekends..

I have EWTN on now and there is sound on Verizon FiOS in VHO3 (SoCal) so you're gram's cable company is lying unless Verizon has a secret connection. :D

Is her cable company getting it direct from the network or from a local channel's subchannel. If it's the latter it may be that channel's fault.

Hope this helps. :)

My mother is also having problems with EWTN in Berks County, PA and the cable service is Service Electric Cablevision. I called this cable company and they mentioned that they are aware of this problem where there is no sound but the channel can still be viewed. I was also told that the problem is being addressed and the problem is with the source, EWTN, and not the cable company, so they are likely working on the feed to the cable company. My mother is in a nursing home, and other TVs were having the same problem, so that is how we were aware that it was not an internal problem. Other channels are working fine. I have Comcast Cable, and I do not have any problem with the sound for the EWTN channel.
