technical question

How is 990 going to be a "northshore station" with it's stick on top of Herritage Plaza in Metairie and such a poor night-time signal. Can you even hear it in West St Tammany in the daytime? I know you can't hear it in Washington Parish and that's certainly part of the "Northshore." Will they lay out the cash to move the stick? Who bought this station for this purpose? As long as they're throwing money around, I got a coupla ideas!
;-)
How perplexing.

i get 990 clear in northern livingston parish. so i am pretty sure it reaches st tamminy also. not that there is anything on 990 worth listning to however ;D

KSW2844;
Now you got me confused. I though (and I belive I am correct on this) that the transmitter and tower is on top the Raddison( formerly the Clarrion Hotel) on Canal street in New Orleans and the studios are in Herritage Plaza on Vets in Metairie. As for the signal they may have repaired the transmitter because I can receive it clearly in South Lafourche. :)

plain and simple... Sell it.... Amazing what a little sales pitch can do to convince people who don't know how radio works, how it can work for them.

gjroussejr is correct as the FCC lists the transmitter in downtown NOLA.

But KSW is correct also..For a northshore station, estimates of range are kind of more favorable to the southshore

But it was bought by a lawyer group and some others from the northshore.

...for $1.1 million. And here's an interesting clause in the WGSO asset purchase agreement:

Spanish Language Operations. For a period of nine (9) months from the date of this Agreement, Buyer agrees to give Seller one-hundred fifty (150) days prior written notice if Buyer elects to program the station in a Spanish language format. Buyer shall not transfer the station to any third party unless this restriction is accepted by such third party.

Not to jump to any conclusions, of course.
