Technology continues to amaze me

I just tested KLMI’s WebVT with PlayOutOne Pro from my Iphone 17 Pro Max and it worked well, plus I think it sounded good.

No, it didn’t air.

It’s 720pm, I went to a point in the log in the 7pm hour that had already aired so I could test it.

I didn’t have headphones or earbuds on but it sounded ok.

Nearly every playout system can do that now.
i know but you gotta remember where i spent 5 1/2 years lol.

I still think technology is amazing regardless of how many systems can do it and the fact we can do it is amazing, regardless

A little off the main subject, but I noticed the last song on your screenshot. Do you actually play "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix on KLMI?

Not criticizing...just curious. I personally love it when stations play something unexpected.

Yup, we sure did. We play music across all genres 70s to now centered on 80s to late 2000s

Good to play out of the box. Instead of the same over played 15 songs.

overall, we sound like an upbeat mainstream AC.. we can have country, pop and soul in one song set.. which is a bit of a mish mash.. but when you start to look at the bigger picture, it makes sense. No songs too hard or soft/slow, no songs too rock-y or loud

I guess I'm just surprised that "Purple Haze" wasn't considered a little too "rock-y" as you put it. Not that I'm complaining...I like variety. That you'd play that makes me think of KRXY in Olympia, WA.

Remember that radio was "saved" in the early 50's when TV took over most homes because the idea of playing the 40 most popular songs over and over was implemented. And that is what most people under about 40 wanted to hear back then.

I remember when Top 40 was the thing. One station I listened to was mainly that, plus they did an hour late night and Saturday nights for oldies.
