I would like the same question...do any ACTUAL STORES in the US sell the Tecsun models on this and other web sites...Likewise with Degen models...

*****Also...does anyone know of the *quality* of ordering Tecsun versus the name brand American equivalents in stores???*****

As for some of the models on this page: the BCL2000 is under the Grundig label as the S350 at Sharper Image, Good Guys, and Radio Shack, and probably others...

The wind up radio FM/MW/SW: Same stores except I'm not sure about the Sharper Image. It's as the Grundig FR200 and is 39.99. I'm forever in love with that radio for MW (AM) ... it has excellent MW sensitivity and selectivity although the FM and SW drift is annoying and FM reception is not good if you are outside the local service area. The radio has been dropped 20 times over 2 years and banged around on a bike and still operates. Look for the newest coloured sports models with adapters for charging the battery pack.

SL2000 Tecsun:

* AM 520-1610 KHz
* FM 88-108 MHz
* SHORTWAVE - (SW1) 2.30 -7.80 MHz, (SW2) 9.10 -26.10MHz.

(truncated)

Is this correct? Does this really not go up to 1710kHz???

How about 87.0 or 87.5?

These are the types of differences I mean in the previous post when I refer to quality...compared to the Grundig models (in this case, the Grundig S350).

I'm going to have to figure out what happened to the yahoo group that was just for the S350...haven't received any messages for months from this...
Edited by this Tom: on 06/21/05 05:30 AM.
