Ted Bryan retired WBT Engineer sk

I received some sad news today. Retired WBT engineer Ted Bryan has passed away. He was meeting WBT's current chief engineer Jerry Dowd at the WBT-FM transmitter site. When Jerry got there he found Ted lying next to his pickup truck. He could not be revived.

People who know way more about radio engineering than I do said that Ted was one the old school engineers who really understood RF. Over the years he was involved in many interesting projects, he had some great stories to tell, I'm going to miss that.

Ted proudly conducted tours of the WBT transmitter site when Charlotte was the host city for the NAB Radio Show. In retirement he continued to work for WBT when needed.

I spoke with William Culpepper a bit ago. He was not aware of arrangements as of yet. I know folks in our group are shocked and deeply saddened.

Once I hear of arrangements I will post them here...

So sorry to hear this.. I knew Ted well. Prayers to his family! :(

The service to remember Ted will be Friday at 1100 at Myers Park Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family has asked everyone to consider a donation to the charity of their choice.
