Excerpted from www.legacy.com:

"Teddy (Ted) Jack Crum was born Dec. 31, 1930. He passed away October 25, 2008 in Coleman, Texas. He worked in radio and television for many years, mainly at KLBJ Austin, Texas. In later years he became a character actor in eleven films which were shot in the Austin area, as well as regular television commercials and numerous voice projects in Texas and California."

I worked with Ted Crum when I jocked at KTBC AM and FM back in the mid and late 60s. (That was before the calls were changed to KLBJ.)

Ted was always a mystery to me because he had a very noticeable Texas accent, and he didn't even try to sound like anything other than what he was.

On a station where the rest of the jocks worked at NOT sounding like we were from Texas, Ted stuck out like a sore thumb. But he was so good at what he did -- and dependable -- that it didn't matter.I remember him as a great guy who was a lot of fun to work with.

Rest in Peace Ted.
