Ted Danson Joins "CSI"

Gag me! My favorite TV show invaded by one of my least favorite actors of all time. Lawrence Fishbourne was exceptionally good in this role and wil be sorely missed. With the exception of Cheers, everything Ted Danson touches has been dismal. I will give it some viewings but I'm really deeply worried that CSI will become unwatchable with this change. :'(

Well, different tastes, I guess. I have the opposite reaction. I like Danson as a comedic actor. He's been especially good lately on HBO's comedy Bored to Death, and appearing as himself on Curb Your Enthusiasm. So I'm sorry to see him wasting his talents on the silly, overdone, and over-the-hill CSI. My guess is - this will be extra retirement income for him, and that's why he's doing it.

I was never really that impressed with Lawrence Fishburn anyway. He always seemed kinda dull to me

Best of luck to Ted Danson :)

Cheers :D

Changes for the show with Danson in the cast

Lyrics for the theme song..
"...where everybody knows who you killed..."

First episode Shelly Long and Rhea Pearlman bore someone to death..
Second episode Cliff goes postal on the strip and George Wendt plays a serial DUI vehicular homicide killer
and by the third Woody Harrelson plays a hemp dealer who kills a rival gang leader and of course, somewhere along the way, Kelsey Grammer shows up as a forensic psychologist.

:D LMAO ricksegers!!! Cheers Scene Investigation? Bar stool stolen, found behind casino on top of dead body. Victim identified by butt print analysis.

Nick (or maybe Catherine): "Looks like the vic was wearing Milk-Bone underwear."

Danson character: "Well, it is a dog-eat-dog world out there."

I always liked him except on "Becker". I was fortunate not to be stuck with the Charlotte CBS affiliate because at one time they were obsessed with the show, taking every opportunity to pre-empt CBS programming for it.

I won't be watching simply because I have to draw the line somewhere, and I hear this show is graphic. That's a good enough reason.

Hahahah.LOL.Get the script written.sounds great for a episode.I'm shocked they signed him on.

ted danson is a good actor.he is good enough that he can fit in the CSI series easily.

EP Carol Mendelsohn said they were looking to take a lighter approach with the next lead male, as Lawrence Fishburne was a little dark and it changed the tone of the series from the Grissom days, when lightheartedness would be interjected much more often.

With that said, anyone who questions Ted Danson's ability to tackle dramatic roles should really catch the first two seasons of "Damages". He is more than capable in this role.

Absolutely true. I had forgotten about that. Early in his career, when Danson was doing small roles, he was often in dramatic parts. In the Onion Field (1979 - based on a true story) he played the detective who is killed by the murderer Gregory Powell fairly early in the movie.

I'll still watch, as it remains the best show of the franchise.

No, wait. Kelsey has played Sideshow Bob, who tried to kill Bart Simpson many times. He should guest star with the palm tree hairstyle and everything.

I'd vote for Bebe Neuwirth. Despite the severe way they dressed her in Cheers as Lillith, she's actually very easy on the eyes. And she starred briefly in one of those failed Law and Order spin-offs, so she has crime-solving credentials. ;D

The producers could really save money by having the two leads be Maris from Frasier and Vera from Cheers. They'd really cut back on the money they're paying for actors....
