Ted Koppel going to NPR (and, by extension, Sirius)

Former ABC-TV "Nightline" anchor Ted Koppel is joining NPR. And, by extension, he'll be heard on Sirius.

According to an Associated Press article (which I found at the Houston Chronicle's website), "NPR announced Thursday that, starting in June, Koppel will provide commentary about 50 times a year to its programs Morning Edition and All Things Considered as well as Day to Day, its new midday newsmagazine. He also will serve as an analyst during breaking news and special events and contribute to the NPR Web site and the network's podcasts." ("Former Nightline anchor Ted Koppel joining NPR," by the AP's Frazier Moore, Houston Chronicle, http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ent/celebrities/3582886.html or http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/printstory.mpl/ent/celebrities/3582886.)

Sirius carries "Day to Day" on 134 NPR Now.

It's not as if Koppel is directly announcing he's joining Sirius. But it's still another feather in Sirius's proverbial cap, IMHO. :)
