Padres radio announcer Ted Leitner said Friday that he will no longer provide play-by-play radio coverage for the team after 41 seasons in the broadcast booth.

He was a big part of my childhood. I enjoyed his rants on Channel 8 back in the 80's. But that's a pretty tiny part of his whole portfolio, I realize.

Happy retirement! I guess he'll be a rep or some such for the Padres, so he won't go.
