Ted Quillin Passes

Radio icon Ted Quillin passed away yesterday at Sunrise Hospital at about 5:55 a.m. Ted was not only a friend but the reason I wanted to have a radio career at age 13. He was a true hero in the eyes of anyone who has a respect for any of the radio pioneers. He was certainly at the very top of my hero list. Ted was inducted into the Nevada Radio Hall of Fame some years ago and anyone who ever heard "Blue skies and green lights" never forgot they were listening to a class act. Ted's passing has left a giant hole in the hearts of those of us who knew him. It would be a very nice gesture if some of you could look up Eve Quillin on Facebook and send her a nice note of condolence. Radio has lost a giant.

Sorry to hear about this.. He was my PD in 1986 when he first moved to Vegas, from Oklahoma City IIRC. I met his daughter a few years ago and told her I had fond memories of working for her father...a true radio legend.
