Ted certainly marched to a different drummer than the rest of the WEEI hosts. Ted definitely would have been more at home in an area of the country where college sports are big. I spent a lot of time in Nebraska, and Big Red is everything. I also had occasion to be in Columbus, Ohio for a couple of years. The Ohio State-Michigan game is as big, if not bigger than Red Sox-Yankees. He was humorless, but I did enjoy that he gave short shrift to the celebrity callers.
This AM Minihane smacked down Everett, the race baiting caller to D&C which reminded me a little of Ted's beat downs. That was entertaining. Usually when I hear the likes of Danny from Quincy, Steve from Fall River, Jack from Lynn, and others, I can't hit the button fast enough. If I thought that someone was going to humiliate them I'd stay on the station. I get the impression that the hosts have been told to be nice to callers. I agree with that as long as it's a reasonable person. But these "celebrity callers" make the same speech every time until finally they get blown up or hung up on.
The 1959 Univac bit the dust, so I'm posting this on a new Chrome Book(who says I'm not with it?) I hope this posts
