Ted Sausman

Earlier today Biz Radio/1360 experienced a power outage which caused them to have to play music for a couple of hours. A guy named Ted Sausman was running KMNY during this outage until Biz Radio returned. I know that I've heard him before, but I can't remember where. I'm thinking KSKY, but possibly KRLD. Can someone please help me figure this one out.

Now THAT is a name I have not heard of in 25 years. Ted Sauceman was the General Manager of Sonlife Radio, Jimmy Swaggart's chain of religious stations run from Baton Rouge LA in the late 70's/Early 80's.

The first time I met him, he told me he had a grandfather whose last name was "Smith". I told him that was interesting, because I had one named "Smith" as well.

I wondered where he had gotten off to when Swaggart sold the biggest part of his stations. Now I know.

Matt Smith,

Former PD
WAME - Sonlife 1480

Now Station Manager
WGSR-TV "Star-39"

Ted is very good guy, and what a sense of humor! He is one Gm who is not afraid of getting his hands dirty in working and is always supportive of the staff. A RARITY!Bizradio is blessed to have him

OMG, I haven't heard that name used in a sentance in almost eight years. I remember him from my KSKY days. Great guy, you could ask him anything, there was no dumb question.

This guy knows how to be a manager, and remembers what it's like to be in the trench, and won't hesitate to come back to the trenches to get the job done.

A dying breed indeed!

Ted Sauceman...What a guy!!!

I used to work for Ted from 1996-2000 right up until the time of the station sale to Salem. He is one of the greatest human beings I have ever known or will ever know. I still keep in touch with him quite often. He was very instrumental in my growth in this industry. I almost consider him a father figure. I will also give a plug here as well to Lon Sosh, who was very instrumental in the sales success of the station. Lon is under the weather at the moment, and was in the hospital a week ago. Keep him in your prayers.
